Birthday noodles vegetable noodles
Introduction:
"Today is my husband's birthday. He doesn't like sweets like birthday cakes and prefers Chinese food. Get up early and start to make him a very traditional Chinese birthday breakfast - vegetable noodles and boiled eggs. In the customs of my hometown, noodles and eggs are the foods I must eat in the morning on my birthday. There is a custom of eating birthday noodles among the people, which has a long history. This custom originated in the Western Han Dynasty. According to legend, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty believed in ghosts and gods as well as Xiangshu. One day, when chatting with ministers and talking about the length of a person's life, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty said: "according to the photo album, if a person is middle-aged, his life will be long. If a person is one inch long, he can live to 100 years old." Dong Fangshuo, the minister sitting next to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, laughed. All the ministers were puzzled and blamed him for being rude to the emperor. When Emperor Hanwu asked him what he was laughing at, Dongfang Shuo explained, "I'm not laughing at your majesty, but at Pengzu. People live to be 100 years old, one inch long. Peng Zu lives to be 800 years old, eight inches long. How long is his face People also laughed when they heard it. It seems that it is impossible to live a long life by having a long face, but we can think of a flexible way to express our wish for a long life. Face is face, that "long face is long face", so people borrow long noodles to wish longevity. Gradually, this practice has evolved into the habit of eating noodles on birthdays, which is called "longevity noodles". This custom has been followed to this day. "
