The art of floor painting and color painting in Northeast ancient architecture is one of the decoration schools of Chinese traditional architectural repair art, which is used to reinforce and anticorrosion the main wooden members of the building, and stabilize the whole building.

The dizhan (oil decoration) technique adopts the self boiled Tung ash oil and pig blood matching material, adjusts the construction time according to the light, and insists not to construct in the dog days, and uses the silver ink with UV resistance characteristics and the self-made tung oil to brush the oil decoration, so as to ensure the quality of the maintenance and repair of ancient buildings. In the process of repairing the ancient color paintings in Northeast China, the maintenance methods are more flexible. In the restoration of the official color paintings of the ancient buildings in Shenyang Palace Museum and the unique Temple color paintings in Northeast China, the advantages of the three official color paintings were integrated, and the materials and techniques were improved. For a long time, the ancient buildings repaired by these techniques are still in good condition.
