Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of percussion music in Jizhong plain. It is commonly known as "concert" among the people. It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it is mainly played by Guan and Sheng. In addition to Sheng, pipe, flute and other wind instruments, Jizhong Sheng wind instruments also use cloud Gong, drum, cymbal, cymbal, Dangdang and other percussion instruments. The music of Sheng Guan music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion music. The suite is a major part of the whole playing repertoire because of its long length and complex structure. Jizhong Sheng wind music is spread all over the whole Jizhong plain. Farmers in this area take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice and funeral, and inherit it from generation to generation in their own unique way.
Xiongxian ancient music belongs to the North music branch of folk drum music. It originated in song and Yuan Dynasties and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has a deep origin with court music. At present, Xiongxian ancient music is still active in the folk, including yagucheng, KaiKou, Zhaogang and duzhuang concerts. These concerts are closely related to religious beliefs such as Buddhism and Taoism, and have always been an indispensable art form for people's blessing and entertainment in Xiongxian.
The music repertoire of yagucheng concert is simple, elegant, joyous and sorrowful. Among them, the repertoire of Wenchang includes Confucius' exploration of Yanhui and mantra of Putan, the opening tune includes the antiphonal tune of xiaohuayuan and dazouma, and the Sanqu includes the tune of Tiao Pao, the military order and the four seasons. The Wuchang starts with the opening cymbals, with a total of seven sections, and the cymbals are closed at the end. KaiKou concert is a Taoist northern music with both culture and martial arts. There is a local gongchi music collection, including five major series, more than 80 minor songs, one huilun and one Hexi cymbal. Zhao Gang's concert is a kind of northern music. It contains more than 20 pieces of ancient music, two sets of divertimento and five sets of percussion music, which are divided into Buddhist music, Taoist music and folk music.
