Introduction to Errentai
Applicant: Fugu County, Shaanxi Province
Errentai mainly spread in Fugu County, Shaanxi Province. It appeared in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty and has a history of nearly 200 years. In order to survive, folk artists in Fugu in the late Qing Dynasty formed a group to sing Errentai along the middle reaches of the Yellow River, forming a lot of "toy" groups. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the content of Errentai was rich. In the early days of the founding of new China, folk artists reformed Errentai greatly under the influence of "new Yangko movement". In this process, Ding Xicai, Wang Xiangrong and other folk artists have played an important role. In 1953, Ding Xicai, on behalf of the northwest region, participated in the second national folk music and dance performance, singing "five brothers herding sheep" and "nun thinking of fan", which were highly praised by peers and experts.
There are four modes of Fugu Errentai Music: Gong, Shang, Zheng and Yu, most of which are Zheng and Shang modes. When singing, we often use small singing and Qupai music to express the happiness, anger and sadness of the working people. In the early days, there were no actresses, and actors played all the Dan feet. The actors with ugly feet performed around the Dan feet, which was called "rolling edge" or "disgraceful". After the appearance of duet singing and drama, the roles in the drama increased.
