Introduction to Errentai
Applicant: Kangbao County, Hebei Province
Errentai is a popular folk opera in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia, northern Shanxi, Northern Shaanxi and Zhangjiakou of Hebei Province. Its original tunes are local folk songs, such as the aria evolved from Han folk songs in central and Western Inner Mongolia [Da cherry], [pressure cake noodles], [Da Hou Tao], etc., the aria evolved from northern Shanxi folk songs [ZOUXIKOU], [Wuge herding sheep], [pearl rolling curtain], etc., and the aria evolved from northern Shaanxi folk songs [song Dage], [shilidun], [Embroidered Purse], etc., which are originated from Mongolian folk songs The evolution of folk songs includes alabenhua and Wang aizhao, northern Hebei Folk Songs, Jianghuai folk songs, such as jasmine and Yu Meiren, etc. Pai Qu absorbed a lot of Jin opera, folk percussion music and religious music.
Taking Hohhot as the boundary, the style of Errentai can be divided into the West and the East. The West Road Errentai was originally called Mongolian opera, which was mainly popular in Hohhot, Baotou, Bayannaoer League, YIKEZHAO League, Yulin district and Xinzhou district; the East Road Errentai was originally named "Tiao Tiao" or Errentai, which was mainly popular in Wulanchabu League, Yanbei district and Zhangjiakou district. The traditional plays of Errentai mainly describe labor and production, expose the darkness of the old society, and sing about marriage and love. There are also some fairy tales and historical stories. The West Errentai has plays such as "Da Qian Qian", "Da cherry", "Da Hou Tao", "Zhuan Shan Tou" and "ala Ben Hua", while the East Errentai has plays such as "huiguannan", "pulling donkey", "picking pepper", "selling sesame sugar" and "Lanzhou City".
The singing form of Errentai can be divided into three categories: hard code play, whip play and duet. Hard code opera focuses on duet, recitation and performance, which requires performers to have good voice conditions; whip opera focuses on dance performance; duet is performed by two people alternately.
Errentai is popular on both sides of the middle reaches of the Yellow River and the agricultural areas inside and outside the Great Wall. Due to the remote area and inconvenient transportation, it brings many difficulties to the excavation, sorting and protection. In recent years, with the death of old artists, many repertoires and plays are on the verge of being lost, which are in urgent need of rescue and protection.
