Introduction to the Nuwa festival in Qin'an
Applicant: Qin'an County, Gansu Province
The Nuwa memorial ceremony in Qin'an County, Tianshui City, Gansu Province is a large-scale sacrificial activity of Chinese ancestors.
Qin'an County is the ancient Chengji, known as "xiliwa township". It is said that Fuxi and Nuwa were born here. There are still many place names and legends related to the legend of Nuwa in Longcheng.
Located in Longcheng town of Qin'an County in the middle reaches of Qingshui River, which is one of the four cultural valleys in Longyou, Nuwa temple was built in the Han Dynasty. It was rebuilt many times in the past dynasties. It was destroyed in the cultural revolution. In 1989, local people raised funds to rebuild the temple.
It is said that the 15th day of the third month of the lunar calendar is the birth day of Nu Wa. On this day every year, sacrificial activities are held in Nu Wa temple, which is divided into two parts: public sacrifice and people's sacrifice. The ceremony was grand and attended by representatives from all walks of life and guests from home and abroad.
On March 11, the altar was set up for folk sacrifice. On March 12, the altar was sprinkled with holy water from Longquan for blessing. On the 13th, fenggou was used to welcome Luan, on the 14th, Fengtai was used to welcome food. On the 15th, the main altar was held at 9:50 am.
The project is of great significance for inheriting the fine traditions of the Chinese nation and enhancing the cohesion of the Chinese nation. It also has important historical and folklore research value.
