Luzhi town
Luzhi (L ù zh í) town belongs to Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is an ancient town of Chinese water culture with a history of more than 2500 years, which is the same age as the ancient city of Suzhou. It is located 25 kilometers southeast of Suzhou city. It is the East Gate of Wuzhong District, with Wusong River in the north, Chenghu Lake in the south, Suzhou Industrial Park in the West and Nangang town of Kunshan in the East.

Historical evolution
According to the research of prehistoric cultural relics unearthed in Luzhi area, there were ancestors living here about 6000 years ago. In the 26th year of the reign of the king of Qin (221 BC), Wu County was established under the jurisdiction of Wu County. Long live Empress Wu of the Tang Dynasty. In the first year of Tongtian (696), Wu County was divided into Changzhou county. in the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1078-1085), Yiren Township, Wugong Township, and Sutai Township were the main areas. after the 14th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1381), the territory belonged to Yiren township (Renyili), Wugong township (baozuoli) and Sutai township (zhenfengli). In 1607, the inspection department was set up in the southwest of Fuchang bridge in Liuzhi (now Luzhi) and moved to Liuzhi. In 1724, the second year of Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty, Changzhou county was set up in Yuanhe County, which was divided into 19 capitals in the east of Renyili, Yiren Township, Wugong Township, 20 capitals in the upper, middle and lower parts of baozuoli, and 26 capitals in the north of zhenfengli, Sutai township. In the 26th year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1761), Yuanhe County Cheng Branch Defense Department was set up. in January 1912, Wu County, Changzhou county and Yuanhe County of Suzhou Prefecture in Qing Dynasty were merged into Wu County; Luzhi township was set up in the territory, which was subordinate to Wu County. In 1928, Luzhi Township Bureau was established. In August 1929, Luzhi Township Bureau was removed and the 10th District of Wuxian county was established. In November 1937, Luzhi was occupied. In March 1939, Luzhi Township Office was established by the governor's office of the puppet Wu County. In March 1940, the puppet Wu county government restored the Tenth District. In April 1945, Zhenbei town and Zhongnan town merged into Puli town. On August 15, the Anti Japanese war was won and the Tenth District of Wu County was restored. In February of the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947), districts and townships were merged, including Jiansong South District, the former Zhouzhuang district and some areas of Guoxiang District, and the administrative office was located in Puli town. In February of 1948, Songnan district was incorporated into townships, with one A-class township (Fuli town) and two B-class townships (chenmu Township and chulang township). In May, Songnan district and Songbei district were merged into Wusong District, and the district office was located in Fuli town. On May 4, 1949, the territory was liberated and Songnan District People's Government of Wu County was established. In the same year, Xinxiang was rebuilt and the district government was stationed in Puli town. In March 1950, Songnan district was renamed Luzhi District, and the district government was stationed in Luzhi town. In November 1954, Luzhi town under the jurisdiction of Luzhi District of Wu County was designated as a town directly under the county, and the people's Government of Luzhi town was established. In October 1958, Songnan township was merged with Luzhi town to form Songnan people's commune management committee. In October 1961, the town was separated from the community, and Luzhi town under the jurisdiction of Songnan people's commune management committee of Wu County was designated as a county town directly under the central government. In March 1969, Luzhi town merged with Songnan people's commune to form the Revolutionary Committee of Songnan people's commune in Wuxian county. In July 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of Songnan people's commune was renamed Luzhi people's commune Revolutionary Committee. In October 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of Luzhi people's commune was renamed Luzhi people's commune management committee. In August 1983, the separation of government and society was carried out and Luzhi Township People's government was established. Luzhi Township People's government was renamed Luzhi Town People's government. on June 8, 1995, Wuxian county was abolished and built into a city. Luzhi town was under the jurisdiction of Wuxian City. On February 28, 2001, Wuxian City was abolished and Wuzhong District and Xiangcheng District of Suzhou City were established. Luzhi town is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, 25 kilometers southeast of Suzhou city. It is the east gate of Wuzhong District, with Wusong River in the north, Chenghu Lake in the south, Suzhou Industrial Park in the West and Nangang town of Kunshan in the East. Geology and geomorphology
The strata of Luzhi town are from Late Triassic to early Cretaceous, and the area is weathered and denuded. In the late Cretaceous, Luzhi Wujiang Nanxun fault basin was formed, and red sandstone, glutenite, conglomerate and siltstone of inland lacustrine facies (Pukou formation of Upper Cretaceous) were deposited. The sedimentary thickness in the center of the basin is more than 1000 meters. The stratum is exposed in jiangdun village, Xukou Town, Wuzhong District. Luzhi is a weathering and denudation area. Its geological structure belongs to Weiting Kunshan fault. It is located on the south side of Weiting Kunshan line, extending 75 degrees north by East, with a length of 30 km. It is a high angle normal fault inclined to the south. The area from Jiading in the east to Huzhou Suzhou fault zone in the west is the northern boundary of Luzhi fault depression. The thickness of Quaternary, tertiary and Cretaceous sediments in Luzhi, where the fault dip southward, is more than 1km. The topography of Luzhi is Taihu lake sedimentary plain, which belongs to the lake water network plain in the east of Suzhou. The terrain is low and flat, with an altitude of 3-5 meters and a slight upward tilt from west to East. In the West and around the lake, the terrain is slightly higher, ranging from 4 to 5 meters. Along the Wusong River, it is between the normal water level and the flood level, ranging from 3 to 4 meters. The town has dense water network and numerous lakes. The river, harbor and Creek divide the land into lots of different sizes, and the water surface accounts for more than 30% of the land area. Luzhizhen is located in the Yangtze paraplatform and the lower Yangtze Qiantang fold belt, where the geological structure is very developed. The geological condition of the area is good, it is loamy yellow soil type, and the ground endurance is generally about 12 tons per square meter. The earthquake intensity is less than 6 degrees.

It has the characteristics of four distinct seasons, mild climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, obvious rainy season and long frost free period. spring lasts about 70 days from early April to mid June. It is characterized by alternation of cold and warm, slow rise of temperature, changeable weather, sometimes hot and cold, spring thunder and late frost. The rainy days are the most, but the precipitation will not be too much, accounting for 30% of the whole year. Summer lasts more than 100 days from mid June to late September. It is characterized by high temperature and the hottest solar term in summer every year; there are many thunderbolts and sometimes thunderbolts, which damage people, livestock and buildings; the precipitation in Meiyu season is the most in the whole year, accounting for 35% of the whole year. autumn lasts about 60 days from the end of September to the end of November. It is characterized by more typhoons, more active cold air, less warm air and rapid cooling. winter starts from the end of November, the cold air in the north begins to descend southward, and the temperature drops. Generally, there are three or four cold waves every year. In some years, there are more cold waves, and they end again and again.
