Jiangning Street
Jiangning street is subordinate to Jiangning District of Nanjing city. It is located in the southwest of Nanjing city and the west of Jiangning District. It is close to the Yangtze River in the West. Its administrative area is 262 square kilometers. It is formed by the merger of Jiangning, Lulang and Tongjing. Street registered residence population of 90830 people (2010), jurisdiction over 12 communities, 10 administrative villages, street offices in Jiangning Town, 96 Yu Bridge Street.
Jiangning street is located in the hilly area of Ningwu, with high terrain in the southeast and low terrain in the northwest, low mountains in the middle and south, alluvial plains on the river bank, and many sandbars in the river. It belongs to the north subtropical monsoon humid climate zone with mild and humid climate. Along the Yangtze River, there are Jiangning River, Lulang River, Tongjing River, Mulong River and natural river. Evolution of organizational system
Before the Zhou Dynasty, Jiangning in Nanjing was a place of jingman. in the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to the state of Wu; in 472 B.C., Yue destroyed Wu, and in the early Warring States period, it belonged to Yue; in 333 B.C., after Chu destroyed Yue, it belonged to Jinling of Chu. in the 37th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (210 BC), moling county was established by abolishing Jinling City, and it belonged to moling county during the Chu and Han Dynasties. In the 16th year of Jian'an (211), moling county was changed into Jianye County, which now belongs to Jiangning. In the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (280), moling county was rebuilt and Linjiang county was set up. In the second year of Taikang (281), Linjiang county was renamed Jiangning County. The county government was in Jiangning town (Jinling town at that time, and then Jing'an town). In 590, Jiangning County was transferred from Jiangning town to Yecheng (today's Chaotiangong area in Nanjing City), and Jiangning Street still belongs to Jiangning County. In 620, Jiangning County changed its name to Guihua County, which belongs to Yangzhou county and now belongs to Jiangning Street area. In the second year of Shangyuan Dynasty (761), Jiangning County was changed into Shangyuan County, which now belongs to Jiangning Street area. In the 14th year of Wu Tianyou's reign in the South (917), Jiangning County was restored to the South 19th township of Shangyuan county and the North 2nd township of Dantu County. During the reign of Jingde in the Northern Song Dynasty (1004-1008), Jiangning town was established. In 1277, it belonged to Jiangning County, Jiankang road. In the second year of Shunzhi (1645) of Qing Dynasty, the Tianfu was changed into Jiangning Fu, which is now attached to Jiangning Street area. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736-1795), liutangqiao (lulangqiao) belonged to Tongshan Township, Zhumen to zhumennan Township, and Huatang to Guishan township. In January of the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Jiangning County and Shangyuan county were abandoned, and Jiangning Prefecture was changed into Nanjing Prefecture. in 1913, Nanjing government was abolished and Jiangning County was reestablished. Now Jiangning street belongs to Jiangning County. In June 1916, Jiangning County set up seven cities and nine townships. Today, Jiangning street belongs to Jiangning City, Jiangning town and Yuntai city. Lulang belongs to Tongjing township of Jiangning city and Zhumen to Zhumen township of Yuntai city. In 1928, Jiangning County abolished the system of city and township and implemented the system of township and village. Soon it was changed into District, township (town) and neighborhood system, Jiangning Town, Tongjing Town, Mulong town and Banqiao Town were the Ninth District of Jiangning County, while Tongshan town was changed into Lulang town and Zhumen town into Zhumen town in the same period. In February 1933, Jiangning County became an autonomous experimental county directly under Jiangsu Province. Jiangning Town, Tongjing Town, Lulang Town, Mulong town and Qingning Township were designated as the ninth experimental autonomous region of Jiangning County, and Zhumen as the eighth experimental autonomous region. During the Anti Japanese War (1938-1945), Wang puppet established the puppet county government in Dongshan Town, and the New Fourth Army successively established the Anti Japanese democratic regimes in Jiangning County, Hengshan County and Shangyuan County in Jiangning area. Today, the area of Jiangning street belongs to Hengshan County. In September 1945, the Kuomintang Jiangning County government took over the area; in October, the New Fourth Army crossed the Yangtze River and withdrew to the north, and the Hengshan County remained in the area until the winter of 1948. In 1946, Jiangning County was divided into 7 districts and 46 townships. Today, Jiangning street belongs to Jiangning Town, Lulang Town, Mulong Town, Tongjing Town, Fengya town in the second district and Zhumen town in the third district. In November 1949, the old Baojia system was abolished and the township (town) and administrative village system was implemented. Tongjing town is divided into Tongjing Town, Sanxing Township, Hongmu Township and Xinji Township, while Mulong town is divided into Mulong Town, Jianzhong Township and Songning township. The above towns, Jiangning town and Lulang town belong to the second district. In February 1950, the Tenth District was established, and the district office was stationed in Mulong town. In March, Lulang town was divided into Lulang Town, Xining Township, Xinning Township and Qingxiu township. Under the jurisdiction of the Second District, 11 townships including Lulang Town, Xining Township, Xinning Township, Qingxiu Township, Mulong Town, Jianzhong Township, Songning Township, Tongjing Town, Sanxing Township, Hongmu Township and Xinji Township were assigned to the Tenth District, and the Tenth District Office was moved to Tongjing town Jiangning town is divided into Jiangning Town, Anle Township, Yongle Township and Sanshan Township, which still belongs to the second district. In August 1955, the second district was renamed Banqiao District, and Yongle Township under its jurisdiction was merged into Sanshan township; Jiangning Town, Anle Township, Songning Township and Jianzhong Township were merged into Jiangning town. In January 1956, Tongjing Town, Sanxing Township and Hongmu Township were merged into Tongjing town; in February, Banqiao district was renamed Jiangning District; in October, Tongjing district was merged into Jiangning District, and Tongjing town was changed into Tongjing township. In July 1957, Jiangning District and Tongjing district were abolished; Jiangning township was established by merging Sanshan Township, Qingxiu Township and Jiangning town; Lulang township was established by merging Lulang Township, Xinning Township and Xinning township; Zhumen township was established by merging Lulang township; Tongjing township was established by merging Tongjing Township, Mulong Township and Xinji township. In September 1958, Jiangning Township, Tongjing Township and Lulang Township were abolished, and Jiangning people's commune, Tongjing people's Commune and Lulang people's commune were established. The system of integrating government and society and substituting Society for township was implemented. In November 1961, Jiangning town under the jurisdiction of Jiangning people's commune was upgraded to a county town. In June 1964, Jiangning town was demoted from Jiangning County to Jiangning people's commune. In 1982, the communes carried out the reform of administrative system. The government and the commune were set up separately, and the commune was used to build the township. Lulang township was set up in July, and Jiangning Township and Tongjing Township were set up in December. In March 1989, Jiangning township was abolished and Jiangning town was established. In May 1994, Lulang township was abolished and Lulang town was established; Tongjing township was abolished and Tongjing town was established. In March 2000, Jiangning town and Lulang town merged to establish a new Jiangning town. In December 2005, Jiangning town was abolished and Jiangning street was established. In March 2006, Tongjing town was abolished and merged into Jiangning street. In 2010, "Jiangning town" as a historical place name was identified by relevant departments and experts and named as the first batch of "Millennium ancient town" in Nanjing.
