Zhelin town
Zhelin town is located in the southwest of Fengxian, Shanghai, bordering Haiwan town and Qingcun town in the East, Hangzhou Bay in the south, Caojing town in Jinshan District in the west, Nanqiao town and Zhuangxing town in the north.
In 2012, the town area was 91.21 square kilometers. The area of cultivated land is 3874 hectares. Under the jurisdiction of Linhai, Xinsi and Huqiao, there are 16 villages, 7 communities, 1 River team and 346 villager groups. There are 84918 permanent residents in the town (2017). In 2014, the total tax revenue of Zhelin town was 1.016 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.75%, and the local fiscal revenue was 312 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.65%.
On January 9, 2019, Zhelin town was selected into the list of "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" from 2018 to 2020 by virtue of Huqiao rolling lamp.
In July 2020, Zhelin town was confirmed as a national health Township in 2019 by the National Patriotic Health Association.
History of construction
In 1726, Yunjian Township and Baisha Township in the southeast of Huating county were established as Fengxian County.
On the afternoon of May 13, 1949, the Chinese people's Liberation Army entered Nanqiao and liberated Zhelin.
In May and June 1956, Fengxian county Party committee and people's Government of Fengxian County moved to Shenjia garden, Xiehe Lane (now 502 Jiefang Middle Road).
From 1949 to 1952, it belonged to Songjiang District of Southern Jiangsu administrative office.
From 1952 to February 1958, it belonged to Songjiang District of Jiangsu Province.
Since March 1958, it has been affiliated to Suzhou special district of Jiangsu Province.
Since November 24, 1958, it is subordinate to Shanghai.

Division evolution
In May 1950, Zhelin Town, shanghengjing, Songjiang County, Henan Province, was divided into Fengxian Zhelin area. Afterwards, Zhelin area was divided into eight villages: Dongmen Village, Nanmen village, Guandi village, Zhenan village, Zhebei village, Xinqiao village, Fengqiao village and Dasha village in Zhelin township (15 villages in total); Jiaonan village and Xielu village in Xinsi township (8 villages in total); Xiaocheng village, Donghu village and Xihu village in Daoyuan township (10 villages in total); Zhangjia village and Zhoujia village in Xiwan township (11 villages in total) There are five villages, namely, Zhelin village, Nanlong village, Jialu village and Yingfang village.
In September 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The county set up one town and 15 townships, with 290 senior agricultural production cooperatives under its jurisdiction. Four small townships (Zhelin, Xinsi, Daoyuan, Xiwan) in Zhelin area were merged with Xintang township to establish Xinsi Township, commonly known as Daxiang (township government is located in Xinsi town).
Since October 1, 2000, Fengqiao village and Yuyu village have been assigned to Fengxian District of Shanghai chemical industry zone.
In April 2002, Fengxin town and Zhelin town were abolished and a new Zhelin town was established.
Since August 1, 2003, the first, second and third groups of Zhelin village have been assigned to Fengxian District of Shanghai chemical industry zone.
In November 2003, Zhelin Town, Huqiao town and Xinsi town were abolished and a new Zhelin town was established (the original Fengxin town area was under the jurisdiction of the newly established Haiwan town)

The 2 Soil belongs to sand and mud. There are six kinds of soil, the sandy soil is yellow sandy soil, sandy loess, shell bottom sandy soil; the yellow mud head soil is sandy yellow mud head, ditch dry yellow mud head, shell core ditch dry yellow mud head.
Outside the pond, the soil belongs to alluvial deposit, with six soil properties: loess particles (also known as yellow sand), clay particles (also known as yellow sand), silt particles (also known as qingzisha), granular heavy sand clay, silty clay and greasy clay.

Zhelin is a mountainous coastal area. The natural conditions of "South Salt and north agriculture" are excellent, and the resources of animals and plants are abundant. In the past, there were five kinds of local products in Zhelin. The famous ones were "yuanyan" in Zhelin, Artemisia ordosica and Oriental prawn in Zhelin. Up to 2003, there are more than 300 species of plants and 100 species of animals in Zhelin town. Among them, Chinese medicinal herbs include Shi Changpu, loofah, cuttage, wolfberry root, Wutong, Herba Leonuri, motherwort, Polygonum, Plantago, mint, chrysanthemum, Ophiopogon japonicus, Du Gua, and chrysanthemum.

In 1961, there were 2312 households with a total population of 9338, with an average of 4.03 people per household. At the time of the third national census in 1982, there were 4067 households with a total population of 13794, including 6608 males and 7186 females, with an average of 3.39 per household. By the end of 2000, there were 5659 households and 14133 people in Zhelin town. The average number of people in each household is 722.74, including 685 males and 685 females. Since 2001, the population of Fengqiao village and fishery village has been counted in Fengxian District of Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone, and the population in Zhelin has decreased. By the end of 2003, there were 4537 registered residence households in 7 villages and 1 towns in Zhelin Town, with a total population of 11110 people, including 5449 men and 5661 women, with an average of 2.45 households per household.

In 1984, Zhelin Township planted 385 hectares of rice with a total yield of 2686 tons; 280 hectares of second wheat with a total yield of 931 tons; 191 hectares of cotton with a total yield of 243 tons; 103 hectares of rape with a total yield of 236 tons. In 2003, the rice planting area of Zhelin town was 240 hectares, with a total yield of 1893 tons; the second wheat planting area was 10 hectares, with a total yield of 29 tons; the rape planting area was 86 hectares, with a total yield of 162 tons.
