Kaiping Town, belonging to Kaiping District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, is located in the middle of Kaiping District, bordering Wali town in the East, Yuehe town in the South and Liyuan Town in the north, with an administrative area of 65.68 square kilometers.
In the first year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1403), "Kaiping zhongtunwei" was moved here; in 1984, Kaiping people's Commune and Kaiping street were merged to build Kaiping town; in November 1992, Guanyao township was abolished, of which four villages belonged to Kaiping town; in August 1996, Chadao township was merged into Kaiping town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Kaiping town was 58906. As of June 2020, Kaiping town has jurisdiction over 34 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Sanjie village.
In 2018, there were 104 industrial enterprises in Kaiping Town, including 12 above scale enterprises and 37 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the first year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1403), "Kaiping zhongtunwei" was moved here.
In 1404, Kaiping town was set up.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to luanzhou and Fengrun counties.
In July 1952, Kaiping town was built, belonging to the Fifth District of Tangshan city.
In 1958, Kaiping people's commune was established in the suburb of Tangshan city.
In 1960, Majiagou people's commune was rebuilt.
In 1961, it was renamed Kaiping people's commune.
In 1984, Kaiping people's Commune and Kaiping street were merged to build Kaiping town.
In November 1992, Guanyao township was abolished, and four villages were assigned to Kaiping town.
In August 1996, Chadao township was incorporated into the city.
