Baguazhou Street
Baguazhou street belongs to Qixia District of Nanjing city. It is located in the northwest of Qixia District. Together with Liuhe District and Pukou District, it forms Jiangbei new district of Nanjing, covering an area of 55.62 square kilometers. It is the third largest island in the Yangtze River, known as "Jiangzhong Green Island" and "the first town of Artemisia selengensis in China".
Baguazhou maintains the natural pastoral characteristics of agricultural economy. Compared with the surrounding bustling and noisy urban areas, Baguazhou has many green vegetation, fresh air, quiet environment, and many water systems. It is a rare "paradise" in Nanjing metropolitan area.
The southwest head of Baguazhou is across the river from Mufu mountain and Yanziji in the south of the Yangtze River. You can see the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge from the upstream and the second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge from near. In 2015, it was listed as "national one village one product demonstration village" by the Ministry of agriculture.
Historical evolution
The formation history of Baguazhou can be traced back to the Southern Song Dynasty. According to research, Huang tiandang, the famous battle against Jin Dynasty in the Southern Song Dynasty, was in the lower reaches of Qingzhou (the rudiment of Baguazhou). Today's Baguazhou evolved from Qingzhou in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is recorded in the existing steles of villagers' anti hegemony (forbidding grazing stele) and Qing troops' tuntian stele (forbidding stele) on Baguazhou that Baguazhou was originally named Qingsha, then jinzhusha, and then Xinzhou, also known as Juzhou. Baguazhou in Ming Dynasty is also called qilizhou because it looks like straw sandals. Later, the South Bank of Baguazhou was washed down by the river, the waterway moved southward, and the sediment deposited northward, which gradually became the figure of Baguazhou, hence the name of Baguazhou. In the Qing Dynasty, because of the rich reed on the island, it was commonly known as Luzhou. In the inscriptions are the historical place names of qilizhou and Luzhou. According to textual research, Baguazhou has been named for more than 300 years. There are two versions about the origin of the name of Baguazhou: one is that it gets its name because it looks like "Baguazhou"; the other is that "the empress Ma of Ming Taizu lost the Baguazhou jade in the river, thus forming Baguazhou" (a folk legend spread on Baguazhou).
In 1684, sporadic immigrants began to live in the southwest corner of Baguazhou.
In 1712, the fifty first year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, people began to open up wasteland for farming.
Fifty-eight years (1718) of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, according to the eight tablets of the villager's anti hegemony tablet, it is a case of Shang Yuan county (now Nanjing), which indicates that the Eight Diagrams Zhou and its residents were incorporated into the registered residence of the government.
In 1751, Emperor Qianlong ascended Yanziji and wrote a poem entitled "but I like to turn sand into green fields, and Yancun ploughs and chisels to make peace for a long time". Among them, "green fields" refers to Baguazhou, and "Yancun ploughs and chisels" indicates that there were quite a number of villagers living on Baguazhou at that time. Because it looks like straw sandals, it was once known as straw sandal island. In the late Qing Dynasty, the island continued to collapse in the South and silted in the north. Because it merged with another qilizhou, it gradually became a Baguazhou, so it was named Baguazhou.
In 1927, after the founding of the national government, Baguazhou was located in the urban area of Nanjing. At that time, there were more than 3000 bannermen in Nanjing, and Baguazhou was the place where the bannermen reclaimed land. Later, a large number of poor people from Anhui Wuwei, Jiangsu Pixian and other places moved to Baguazhou one after another. Baguazhou, which is full of reeds, became a place for them to cultivate and settle down.
In October 1934, Baguazhou was divided into the Ninth District, which governed Qili (including Baguazhou, nitanzhou) and other towns.
In January 1949, Baguazhou was established in Yanziji district as the 14th District of Nanjing.
On April 23, 1949, Nanjing was liberated. Baguazhou is the eighth District of Nanjing City, which is divided into five townships: Shangba, Zhongqiao, Xiaba, Xunli and Qili. In May, the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and the Municipal People's government took over the ninth and tenth district offices of the national government. In June, the people's governments of the ninth and tenth districts were set up, and their governance remained unchanged. The fourteenth district was abolished and still belonged to the ninth district.
In July 1953, it was put under the jurisdiction of Liuhe County, established Baguazhou District, and set up the original five townships.
In 1956, it returned to Nanjing, belonging to Yanziji district. The original five townships were merged into three townships: Shangba, Xiaba and Qili.
In October 1958, the original three townships were merged into Baguazhou people's commune.
In 1960, it was assigned to Xiaguan District of Nanjing.
In May 1961, it was assigned to Pukou District of Nanjing city.
In July 1962, it was assigned to Yanziji District of Nanjing city.
In July 1963, Baguazhou was divided into Shangba, Zhongqiao, Xiaba, Xunli and Qili five people's communes.
In May 1965, it was merged into Baguazhou people's commune again.
In June 1983, Baguazhou people's commune was changed into Baguazhou township.
In 2002, Baguazhou township was abolished and Baguazhou town was established with 12 administrative villages.
On May 16, 2005, with the approval of the provincial government, Baguazhou town was abolished and Baguazhou street was established.
On May 27, 2012, Baguazhou Street implemented zoning adjustment, and the original 13 villages (communities) were adjusted and merged into 8. According to the adjustment, Qili Village and Changjiang village will be merged to form a new Qili Village, with the office located in the former Qili Village Department; Datong village and Shangba village will be merged to form a new Shangba village, with the office located in the former Datong Village Department; Xiaba village and Guangming Village will be merged to form a new Xiaba village, with the office located in the former Xiaba Village Department; Yongning Village and Zhongqiao village will be merged, with Xiaojiang village in the north of Wusi village Group 1, 2, 3, 4 and 12 on the South Bank of Henan are merged to form a new Zhongqiao village, whose office is located in the former Yongning Village; group 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in the south of Wusi village are merged into Xinzha village, whose office is located in the former Xinzha village; the organizational system and office location of Dongjiang village, Waisha village and baguahuayuan community remain unchanged.
administrative division
By 2020, Baguazhou street has jurisdiction over one community (baguahuayuan community) and seven villages (Qili Village, Shangba village, Xiaba village, Zhongqiao village, Xinzha village, Waisha village and Dongjiang Village).
geographical environment
Location context
Baguazhou street is located in the northwest of Qixia District, Nanjing city. In the south, it is far away from Yanziji, Muyan Scenic Area and Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone. In the north, it is across the river from Liuhe District, in the southeast, it is across the river from xinshengwei foreign trade terminal, and in the west, it is in the urbanization zone of "taking the river as the axis and developing along the river" in Nanjing metropolitan area, covering an area of 55.62 square kilometers.
landforms
Baguazhou Island, where Baguazhou street is located, is the third largest island in the Yangtze River after Chongming and Yangzhong. Baguazhou is a sandbank type plain formed by the erosion and deposition of the Yangtze River. The terrain in Baguazhou is low and flat, with the ground elevation of 5.2-7.7 meters (Wusong elevation), mostly below 6.5 meters, and the part above 6.5 meters is mainly distributed on both sides of small rivers in the northwest of the island It is slightly higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast.
hydrology
The Yangtze River is divided into two branches at Baguazhou, the South Branch is the main stream with the maximum water depth of 35 meters, and the North Branch is a tributary with the maximum water depth of about 10 meters. According to the hydrological data provided by Nanjing Yangtze River Station of Jiangsu Provincial Water Resources Department, the lowest water level of the Yangtze River is 1.54 m, and the highest water level is 10.22 m (Wusong elevation). There are two main and secondary flood control dikes around Baguazhou. Most of the secondary dikes on the river bank are outside, which can resist general floods. The top elevation of the main dike flood control wall is 12.0-12.5 meters, which can prevent the once-in-a-century floods.
Except for nitrogen and phosphorus, all monitoring indexes of water body in Baguazhou street can basically meet the class IV standard of surface water quality; except for petroleum and non-ionic ammonia, all other monitoring indexes of water quality in Raozhou Banjiang of Baguazhou do not exceed the class II standard of environmental quality standard for surface water (gb3838-88); except coliform group and total bacterial count, other monitoring indexes of underground water quality can meet the class IV standard According to the quality standard for groundwater (GB / t14848-93), the coliform group and the total number of bacteria can only reach the class V standard, so the groundwater in Baguazhou is not suitable to be used as the direct drinking water source for residents.
climate
Baguazhou is a subtropical monsoon climate zone, with the characteristics of four distinct seasons, warm and humid, and concentrated rainfall. The annual rainfall is 1000-1100 mm. The rainfall process mostly occurs from June to September. The annual frost free period is 237 days. The annual average temperature is 15.4 ℃, the average temperature in January is 1.9 ℃, and the average temperature in July is 28.2 ℃. The annual prevailing wind direction is southeast wind and northeast wind. There are more than 30000 people around the island The coastline with a length of 5 meters is still a good original wetland environment in Nanjing.
According to the special research of Nanjing Institute of environmental science, the atmospheric environmental quality of Baguazhou has no obvious change in five years, and the conventional pollution factors (SO2, NO2, smoke and dust) can stably meet the requirements of the functional area.
natural resources
water resource
The surface water system of Baguazhou is developed, with 9.744 square kilometers of all kinds of ponds, accounting for 17.5% of the total area of Baguazhou, including 3 large ditches, 29 middle ditches and more than 300 small ditches. The groundwater level in Baguazhou is shallow and the groundwater recharge condition is good.
Biological resources
The soil and climate conditions of Baguazhou are especially suitable for the growth of all kinds of crops, especially for the cultivation of wild vegetables. After years of development, Baguazhou has become the largest "wild eight fresh" production base in Jiangsu Province; In addition, there are rabbits, pheasants, hedgehogs and snake boas on the island. The common birds are turtledove, thrush, myna, red billed Finch, grey magpie and wild goose.
