Sheshan Resort

Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort is located in Songjiang, the birthplace of Shanghai history and culture in the southwest of Shanghai, about 30 kilometers away from the city center. There are 12 hills in Sheshan area, commonly known as Jiufeng, which has been a famous scenic spot with beautiful scenery since ancient times. On June 13, 1995, the State Council approved the establishment of Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort, with a planned control area of 64.08 square kilometers, of which the core area of the first phase development is 10.88 square kilometers.

Introduction to the resort

The Resort Management Committee was established on November 24, 1995. On May 27, 1996, the municipal government approved the overall development plan of the resort. Shanghai municipal Party committee and Shanghai municipal government have determined that the construction orientation of the resort is "returning to nature, leisure and vacation", relying on natural mountains and forests, focusing on vacation, leisure and modern entertainment facilities, to build a comprehensive tourism resort with high starting point and high quality, integrating leisure and vacation, tourism, religious pilgrimage, popular science education and other functions. The municipal government has clearly listed the resort as the focus of the development of Shanghai's tourism industry, and has invested in the comprehensive development, planning and construction of the resort. There are more than ten major projects in the area, such as Tianma golf course, Jinjiang International Conference Center, water rafting world, 769 Mu Lake area project, forest hotel, holiday hotel and bainiayuan, most of which have been completed and opened. Sheshan resort warmly welcomes people from all walks of life at home and abroad to develop and construct, travel, sightseeing, leisure and vacation.

Resort attractions

Meigong fishing rock

On the south slope of Dongshe mountain, there are beautiful waters surrounding the area, while Shiji rises up to the river. Chen Jiru, a hermit, lived here in the late Ming Dynasty. He often enjoyed fishing in his spare time, so he named it.

Xixinquan

It is located in the west slope of East Sheshan mountain. It is said that it was chiseled by Cong daoren in the third year of Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty. The name of spring comes from the Buddhist theory of "yuani". It is said that drinking this spring water can reach the realm of heart washing. The spring is still clean.

Qilong weir

Qilong weir is a stone road at the southern foot of East Sheshan mountain. It is named after a giant dragon riding on the back of the mountain. The road is shaded by the sun on both sides and has a quiet environment.

The largest outdoor butterfly garden in East China.

Bird Garden

Located at the West foot of the East Sheshan mountain, it is the largest bird attraction integrating science popularization and appreciation in China. There are 20 steel columns with a height of 20-40 meters, and nearly 30000 square meters of polyethylene steel cover the whole bird garden. There are more than 50 species of rare birds in the garden, with more than 5000 birds, including nearly 10 species of national first and second class protected birds. It is a good place for your vacation and leisure.

Orchid shoots in Sheshan

The fragrant orchid shoots of Sheshan have always been favored by people. Jiufeng is rich in bamboo shoots. It has become a famous specialty in Shanghai for its thin shell, tender meat and delicious taste. The orchid shoots are delicious and have a faint fragrance of orchids. When placed indoors, they are full of fragrance and intoxicating. It is said that Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty visited Sheshan in the south, and the officials offered orchid bamboo shoots. Kangxi tasted them carefully and appreciated them. When he returned to Beijing, he wrote the word "orchid bamboo shoots", so the bamboo shoots were also called "orchid bamboo shoots".

Sheshan peach

Sheshan is rich in peach. It has a long history and a wide variety of varieties, including more than 10 varieties of early, middle and late ripening, such as Gangshan Zaosheng, YuHuaLu, baifengyulu, huangtao and yingqingtao. It has the characteristics of early listing, long supply time, high sweetness and good flavor, ranking first in the suburban peach orchard. Among them, the outstanding one, Bai Fengyu peach, has thin skin, crisp meat, thick juice, fresh and sweet taste, tastes cool and refreshing, which is not only a good taste for summer heat relief, but also a top grade gift for relatives and friends.

Sheshan orchid tea

Sheshan has been producing tea since ancient times. It is famous for its light color, clear taste, clear green soup, refreshing fragrance and long aftertaste. Today, more than 30 mu of tea is planted in West Sheshan, and about 500 kg of Longjing green tea is produced every year. Its color, aroma, taste and shape are comparable to those of West Lake Longjing. Therefore, Sheshan green tea enjoys the reputation of "Shanghai Longjing". It has become a great pleasure for tourists to drink Sheshan Longjing tea cooked by Sheshan spring.
