Xincun Street

Xincun street is located in Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is in the north of Hankou, adjacent to the Yangtze River in the East, next to Erqi street by Erqi road in the south, next to Danchi street by Erqi Yangtze River Bridge in the north, and connecting with Houhu street in an oblique line from north to west. It covers an area of 4.75 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 68916 (2010).

In October 2012, it was integrated into 10 community neighborhood committees, and the sub district office was located at No. 17, Erqi North Road.

In 1954, it belonged to Huangjiadun street. Xincun street was established in 1956. Because most of the newly-built staff dormitories are named after the new village, the new village is chosen. In 1959, it merged with Fujian street and established the 27 branch of Jiang'an District People's commune. In 1960, the branch was abolished and Xincun street was restored. In 1996, it covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers and has a population of 50000 people. Company profile

In 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of Huangjiadun office, Liancheng Township, Huiji district. In 1956, Xincun Street office was established. Because most of the new staff dormitories were named after Xincun, it was named "Xincun". In 1959, the people's commune was established, and its office was abolished. It was merged with Fujian street to form Erqi branch. In 1960, the urban commune was abolished and Xincun Street office was restored. Jiefang Avenue runs through the territory from south to north, dividing the whole street into two main traffic roads, East and West. Light rail line 1 runs through the territory, Erqi Yangtze River Bridge runs through the territory. Yanjiang Avenue, Erqi Heng Road and Erqi path are parallel to Jiefang Avenue, and Erqi road and Erqi North road are perpendicular to Jiefang Avenue.

Xincun street is an area with glorious revolutionary tradition. In February 1923, the great historical event of the February 7th strike took place here. In 1958, Chairman Mao Zedong inscribed the name of the monument to the 27 martyrs. Wuhan Erqi memorial has become a "national patriotic education demonstration base".

The former railway units in the jurisdiction account for the vast majority. The rapid development of railway construction has promoted the rapid development of politics, economy and culture in our street.
