Zezhang town

Zezhang town is located in the north-east of Xinjiang county, 16 kilometers away, north of Luliang, east of Xiangfen, south of Gushui, west of Beizhang Town, with a total area of 82.67 square kilometers, 47400 mu of arable land. In 2007, the total yield of wheat was 9074 tons, and the total yield of autumn grain was 18154 tons. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages with a permanent population of 28241 (2017). Zezhang township was established in March 1956. It was called the Management Committee of Zezhang people's commune after it was established separately with Houma in 1962. Origin of village name

Ze Zhang, Ze - refers to the swampy land. There used to be many rivers in Ze Zhang village, just like the water town in the south of the Yangtze River, so it is called Ze. Palm refers to the palm. There are five rivers around Zezhang village, which are like the palm of a person. So it's called Zezhang. In fact, there were only three. Later, the springs at the water source were blocked by quarrying operations, and the three rivers dried up one after another and gradually disappeared.
