Xuanqiao town

Xuanqiao Town, subordinate to Pudong New Area of Shanghai, is located in the middle of Pudong New Area. It is adjacent to Huinan town in the East, Xinchang ancient town in the west, Datun town in the South and Disneyland under construction in the north. It is one of the key development areas in Pudong New Area. The area is 46 square kilometers, 42 thousand and 500 registered residence and 31 thousand registered population.

Xuanqiao town is located in the central and southern part of Pudong. It was merged by Xuanqiao town and Sanzao town in 2002. History of construction

In the 29th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1292), Songjiang Prefecture separated Huating county from the northeast and set up Shanghai county. Xuanqiao area belonged to the rural battlefield of Shanghai county magistrate. In the fourth year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty (1726), the imperial court divided the Changren township of Shanghai county into Nanhui County. According to the records in the annals of Nanhui County, Xuanqiao area belongs to 19 BaO2 District of Nanhui County. originated from Xinchang: in 1910, Xuanqiao area belongs to Xinchang Township, Nanhui County. In 1912, Xuanqiao area belonged to Xinchang Township, Nanhui County, Jiangsu Province. In 1929, Xuanqiao District belonged to Xinchang District of Nanhui County. In 1947, Xinan Township and mianchang Township in Xuanqiao area were merged into Xuanqiao Township, and the Township Office was set up in xuanjiaqiao. On May 14, 1949, Nanhui County was liberated, and the CMC and the CPC underground party organization took over Xuanqiao township government. Separation and establishment: in May 1962, Xuanqiao people's commune was established, with 12 brigades under its jurisdiction. On April 13, 1984, the government and the community were divided. Xuanqiao people's commune was changed into Xuanqiao Township, and the brigade was changed into a village. It has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages and 1 residents committee. In September 1995, Xuanqiao was withdrawn from the township to build a town. In August 2001, Nanhui County was removed from the county and built into a district.
