Luojing town

Luojing town is located in the north of Baoshan District, facing the Yangtze River in the East, Chongming across the river, Yuepu town and Luodian town in the south, xuxing town and Huating town in Jiading District in the west, and Liuhe Town in Taicang City in Jiangsu Province in the north. The total area of the town is 48 square kilometers (including about 21 square kilometers of Baoshan Industrial Park Planning), and the cultivated land area is 15817 mu. There are 21 villages, 181 villager groups, 4 neighborhood committees and 65689 permanent residents in the town (2017).

Historical evolution

In 1958, a large group of Yuejin commune was established. In 1959, it was changed into Luojing commune. In 1984, it set up a township, and in 1993, it established a town. In 1997, with an area of 28.3 square kilometers and a population of 22000, it has jurisdiction over 17 village committees including Haihong, Sanqiao, Chuansha, Baofeng, Chenxing, Hezhong, Hejian, Panqiao, Xiaojing, pailou, Haixing, Huahong, Xinlu, Xinmiao, Tangwan, Yangqiao and gaochunshu. In 2002, it covers an area of 28.33 square kilometers and has a total population of 31042, including 5184 urban population, 16758 rural population and 10100 floating population. Shanghai Baoshan Industrial Park is a municipal industrial park approved by Shanghai municipal government on February 21, 2003.
