Gushan Town

Gushan town is a town under the jurisdiction of Jin'an District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is located in the eastern suburb of Fuzhou City. It is famous for its "famous stone Drum Mountain". It is adjacent to Mawei Port in the East, Fuzhou City and Taijiang town in the west, Minjiang River in the South and Guling summer resort in the north.

Gushan Town governs 23 administrative villages, 17 community neighborhood committees and a provincial Development Zone, Fuzhou Fuxing economic development zone. The town from north to East, the mountains winding ups and downs, forming a half ring barrier, the highest peak is Xiaogu (commonly known as the summit), 919.1 meters above sea level. The whole terrain is high in Northeast, low in southwest and central. The main streams are Moxi River, Yixi River, Fuxing River, fengban River and Pudong river. At the south end of the town and the north side of the Minjiang River, there is a large island called aofengzhou.

In 2017, the administrative area of Gushan town was 5000 hectares, with a permanent population of 249600.

Historical evolution

In the Tang Dynasty, the town belonged to Shuanggui Township, Fengchi Township and Lingzhi township. The song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Fengchi Xixiang, Fengchi Dongxiang and Jin'an Xixiang of Min county respectively. In the late Qing Dynasty, guishanli, ruishengli, shuangxili and gushanli belonged to the three eastern districts of Min county (Dongshan District). In the Republic of China, Songgu township (Songting Township and Gulu Township in the early stage) and Shuangyue township (Shuangfeng Township and Yuefeng Township in the early stage) belonged to the Second District of Minhou County (Min'an township). In December 1949, Gushan district was established under the jurisdiction of Fuzhou City. After the cancellation of Gushan District in May 1955, the townships under the former jurisdiction were directly led by the suburban administrative office and the Fuzhou Municipal People's Committee. GUSHAN people's commune was established in 1958 (before July 1959, it was called Gushan branch of Fuzhou suburban people's commune). In March 1960, Gushan district was restored. In November 1969, Gushan district was renamed Gushan people's commune. In February 1970, Gushan commune was incorporated into Chiwei (Taijiang) commune and was assigned to Chiwei (Taijiang) district. In October 1973, it separated from Chiwei commune and merged with Dongfeng (Guling) commune to form a new Dongfeng commune. In March 1975, after the former Dongfeng (Guling) commune was established, Gushan commune was restored. In May of the same year, it was put into the suburbs. In September 1984, the society was removed to build the township, and in September 1992, the township was removed to build the town. The town people's government is located in Qianyu village. Fuma highway and Fuma railway run through the town. There are Fuzhou railway station in the northwest and Kuiqi and aofengzhou wharf along the river in the south. The traffic is convenient and smooth.

Township Development

Since the "reform and opening up" in the 1980s, Gushan town has got rid of the traditional pattern of agricultural production. While developing the production of vegetables and other non-staple food, it has vigorously set up township enterprises to make the economy develop in an all-round way. The town now has the largest standardized vegetable and non-staple food production base in the province, the largest comprehensive non-staple food production base of village level science and technology in the province, and the animal husbandry village with the largest number of listed pigs and birds per capita in the province. At present, there are 29096 tons of vegetables, 92527 pigs, 862898 poultry, 905 tons of eggs, 1616 tons of milk, 1000 tons of aquatic products and 90 tons of fruits on the market in the whole town, contributing to the supply of non-staple food in the city.

Gushan Town adheres to the road of "invigorating the district through science and technology" and has achieved remarkable results. In 1987, it was listed as a provincial, municipal and district science and technology demonstration town, and in November 1993, it was named "national spark technology intensive area" by the State Science and Technology Commission. In August 1990, with the approval of the Municipal People's government, Gushan Fuxing Investment Zone with an area of 2.66 square kilometers (a private investment zone with a planning area of 5.5 square kilometers) was established. More than 150 large and small projects were built in the zone. The infrastructure facilities of "water, electricity, gas, communication, road, drainage and sewage" were built. In addition, 200000 square meters of standard factory buildings and four production and living service buildings were built. At present, 204 projects have been introduced, including 159 foreign-funded projects, 45 domestic funded enterprises, and 110 enterprises have been put into operation. In 1994, it created an output value of more than 1.9 billion yuan and an export delivery value of 1.4 billion yuan. At present, the town has 47 town run enterprises, 241 village run enterprises, more than 2300 individual and consortium enterprises, and more than 120 foreign-funded enterprises.

Current economic situation

By the first half of 2007, the total industrial output value of Gushan town had reached 7.95 billion yuan, an increase of 10%; the total output value of large-scale industries had reached 4.701 billion yuan, an increase of 14.3%; the investment in fixed assets had reached 1.949 billion yuan, an increase of 80.4%; the retail sales of social consumer goods had reached 824 million yuan, an increase of 49%; the domestic investment had reached 504.5 million yuan, an increase of 77.4%; and the foreign investment had reached 8.8866 million US dollars The actual utilization of foreign capital was US $17.27 million, an increase of 56%; the self operated export was US $349.75 million, an increase of 55%; the total fiscal revenue was 128.83 million, an increase of 27.6%. The local fiscal revenue was 43.58 million yuan, an increase of 18.9%.

Since 2008, Gushan town has adhered to the strategy of strengthening the town through industry and made Fuxing Investment Zone bigger and stronger. We have revitalized the land stock, integrated 500 mu of idle land and 30000 m2 of idle factories, and expanded the land area of the extension area of Fuxing Investment Zone to 300 mu. We have made great efforts to cultivate economies of scale, upgrade the level of economies of scale, and expand industrial clusters. We have formed industrial clusters such as "photoelectric high-tech industry", "lighting industry", "electronic industry", "shoemaking industry", "toy industry", "plastic industry", "machinery manufacturing industry" and "textile clothing manufacturing industry", which has enhanced the potential of economic development.
