Ma Yu town

Mayu Town, subordinate to Jinzhou City, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Jinzhou City, adjacent to Xinji City in the East, Yingli town in the south, donglizhuang town in the West and Dongzhuosu town in the north, with an administrative area of 59.66 square kilometers.

In 1949, Mayu town was located in Dongzhuosu District of Jin county; in February 1985, Mayu town was replaced by township; in 1996, yangjiaying township was incorporated. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Ma Yu town was 46760. As of June 2020, Mayu town has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Mayu village.

History of construction

In 1949, Mayu town belonged to Dongzhuosu District of Jin county.

In 1956, the district was withdrawn and Ma was set up in the township.

In 1958, it belonged to Dongfeng commune and Shulu county.

In 1959, it was renamed dongzhuoshu commune.

In 1961, Ma Yu commune was founded.

In 1962, Jin county, Shu county and Shen county were divided into Jin county.

In 1984, it was changed to Ma Yu township.

In February 1985, the township was withdrawn and Ma Yu town was replaced.

In 1996, yangjiaying township was incorporated.

History and culture

Mayu town is named after the people's Government of Mayu town. In the second year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1404), there were five surnames Cui, Ma, fan, Yu and Weng who built the village here. Because most of the people had the surname Ma and Yu, they took the village name Ma Yu.
