During the Warring States period, it was in the north of Liaodong County of Yan state; in 1984, it was changed to shajintai township; in 1986, it was changed to shajintai Mongolian Manchu Township. As of June 2020, shajintai Mongolian Manchu Township has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in xizhahaqi village.
