The street area starts from Nanyuan South Road and Yingchun road in the East, Tongjing South Road and Fuxing Road in the west, Chenghe River and Bari River in the north, Suyuan street in the south, and Wuzhong District in the south. It is long from east to west and narrow from north to south. It covers an area of 4.09 square kilometers and has a permanent population of about 100000. It has 15 community residents committees. History and culture

After the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, it was reduced to Japanese concession and public concession. In the first factory, the original Japanese consulate building is still preserved. During the Japanese invasion of China, the "naval headquarters" of the Japanese army stationed in the Soviet Union was set up on Panmen road. Suzhou's pride was also written on this land: as early as 1895, Suzhou Jingsi factory and Suzhou Lun yarn factory, which were large-scale industrial enterprises, were born here, becoming the birthplace of modern Suzhou's national industry. On March 24, 2017, wumenqiao street and Youxin street were abolished, and a new wumenqiao street in Gusu district was established by merging the original two street management areas. Meichang community

The neighborhood committee of Meichang community was established on May 18, 2001. Scope of Zoning: 82 buildings in Meichang new village in the East, the junction of Suyuan new village in the west, Suyuan primary school in the South and Meichang River in the north. The third community of south ring is located at the west end of the new village of south ring.
