Weijin town

Weijin Town, belonging to Dongliao County, Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, is located in the southeast of Dongliao County, and is adjacent to Liaoheyuan town in the East. It borders on Daxing Town, Lala River town in Dongfeng County, and the junction with West Lingyun Township, and north to Shoushan Town, Liaoyuan. The total area of administrative area is 192.03 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Weijin town was 28842.

It is named after Weijin river. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a royal paddock, known as tiger nest. In 1901, Weijin town was set up in the 27th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. In 1948, Weijin township was changed. In 1993, township was changed into town. As of June 2020, Weijin town has jurisdiction over one community and 20 administrative villages.

Weijin town is located in the low mountains and hills of Jilin hadaling and the wide valley of Huifa River, and in the northwest of Jilin hadaling.
