Gengzhuang Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Haicheng City, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, is located in the northwest of Haicheng City, adjacent to Nantai town in the East, Haicheng economic and Technological Development Zone and Dongsi Management Zone in the south, Wangtai town in the West and Tengao economic development zone across the river in the North, with an administrative area of 113.6 square kilometers.
In 1910, Haicheng established an autonomous association, which was changed into 6 towns, 8 townships and 15 districts, and Gengzhuang was the fifth town. In 1984, Gengzhuang township was changed into a town. In 2004, Hougan village was merged into Qiangan village, gujia village into donggeng village, and Majia village into Beihe village. By the end of 2018, 41941 people registered residence in Geng Zhuang town. As of June 2020, Gengzhuang town has 20 administrative villages.
In 2011, Gengzhuang town's total financial revenue was 18 million yuan, an increase of 12.5% over the previous year; its general budget revenue was 6.8 million yuan, an increase of 11.6% over the previous year. The per capita net income of farmers is 13366 yuan. In 2018, there were 25 industrial enterprises in Gengzhuang Town, including 6 above scale enterprises and 95 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
In September 2018, Gengzhuang town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.
History of construction
In 1910, the Haicheng autonomous Committee was established, which was changed into 6 towns, 8 townships and 15 districts, and Gengzhuang was the fifth town.
In 1922, Gengzhuang was the ninth district.
In 1947, Gengzhuang was liberated and Gengzhuang district was established.
In 1958, Gengzhuang township was established; in the autumn of the same year, Gengzhuang commune was established.
In 1983, Gengzhuang commune was transformed into a township.
In 1984, Gengzhuang township was transformed into a town.
In 2004, Hougan village was merged into Qiangan village, gujia village into donggeng village, Majia village into Beihe village.
