Santai Manchu Township, belonging to Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province, is located in the west of Wafangdian City, adjacent to Fuzhou town and Yangjia Manchu Township in the East, Paoya Township in the south, Changxing Island Economic and Technological Development Zone in Dalian in the west, and xianyuwan town in the north. Its total area is 130 square kilometers. In late 2018, three Manchu villages had 26086 registered residence population.
Santai Manchu Township was named after Santai, which was originally known as "Shantai". In April 1983, Santai township was established. In November 1984, Santai Manchu Township was established. In April 1985, it was converted to tile roofed house. As of June 2020, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 42 industrial enterprises in Santai Manchu Township, including 3 Enterprises above Designated Size and 115 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, Santai township was formerly niangnianggong district and its surrounding areas.
In June 1958, Santai and Haidao townships in Santai area of Fuxian county were merged into xisantai township.
In September 1958, xisantai, Shengli, Santang and Hengshan were merged into niangnianggong commune.
In May 1961, niangnianggong commune was divided into three communes: Santai commune, Shengli commune, Santang commune and Hengshan commune.
In March 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Santai commune was established.
In October 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of Santai commune was changed into the Management Committee of Santai commune.
In April 1983, Santai township was established.
In November 1984, Santai Manchu Township was established.
In April 1985, it was transferred to Wafangdian City.

By the end of 2011, Santai Manchu Township had 10 villagers' committees, including Sunjia, niangnianggong, Santai, xilanqi, donglanqi, Hongqi, Qingshan, jiahexin, Shilei and Haidao, with 80 villagers' groups.
As of June 2020, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed at No. 18 Dagushan Road, Santai village.

The main natural disasters in Santai Manchu Township are typhoon, early disaster, snowstorm and flood. On the evening of August 19, 1985, typhoon No.9 hit Santai area, with gust of 9 and heavy rain of 238 mm. All crops were blown down, power communication was interrupted, 1214 families were flooded, 128 houses collapsed, and crop production was reduced by 60%, resulting in direct economic loss of 40.6 million yuan.
