Xianjiang street is located on the South Bank of the lower reaches of Feiyun River. It is adjacent to Feiyun street in the East, Mayu town in the west, Bishan of Taoshan town across the river in the north and Wanquan town of Pingyang County in the south. It covers an area of 34.1 square kilometers and has a population of 42600 (at the end of 2008).

It has one office, Xin'an, Hengjie, shangtangtou, Jinguang, Xianjiang, Weng long, Linguang, Xiashe, Xinhe, xiang'ao, Jinshan, Taitou, zhang'ao, long tou, Houlin, Qianlin, jiejie, xiaxilong, Daitou, Sijia, Tangjiao, long Keng, Dongchuan, Tangli, Yinhu, long long, Xinduqiao, fangerdi, xianhuangzhu, Sidong, Denglong, xiatu, Shanhuang, Shanglong, Jiangtou There are 40 administrative villages in Kantou, dui'ao, xu'ao and Dakeng. The office is located in Hengjie village, 8 kilometers away from the city. There are three historical sites of the temple and Temple East Changning temple.
Historical evolution
The name of Xianjiang comes from the name of the village. As early as in the late Tang Dynasty, there was a mound in the sea. People called it Xianyuan village. It was called Xiangang village in the late Yuan Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty. It was renamed Xianjiang in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, and it has been used up to now. During the period of the Republic of China and the early liberation, it was the seat of the district government. In 1958, it was called Xianjiang administrative area. It was changed into Xianjiang commune in 1959, Xianjiang Township in 1984, Xianjiang town in 1987 and Xinjiang Township in 1992. In 1997, it covers an area of 17.8 square kilometers and has a population of 25000. It has jurisdiction over 25 administrative villages including Xianjiang, Hengjie, Linguang, Jinguang, Tangtou, Weng long, Xinhe, xiang'ao, zhang'ao, Jinshan, Xiashe, Daitou, Xin'an, Dongchuan, Longkeng, Longtou, Tangli, Tangjiao, Sijia, Taitou, jiejie, Qianlin, Houlin, shangxilong and xiaxilong. In August 2000, the organizational system of Xianjiang town and Jiangxi town was abolished and a new Xianjiang town was established. After the adjustment, Xianjiang town has jurisdiction over 40 administrative villages, and the town government is located in Hengjie village. In 2011, Xianjiang town was abolished and Xianjiang street was established. the original Jiangxi town was Jiangxi commune before 1984. It was renamed Township in 1984 and established in 1988. In 1997, it covers an area of 13.1 square kilometers and has a population of 12000. In August 2000, Jiangxi town was abolished and merged into the new Xianjiang town. It governs 13 administrative villages, including Dakeng, xuao, dui'ao, Jiangtou, Kantou, xiatu, Denglong, Shanglong, Shanhuang, Sidong, fangerdi, Xinduqiao and xianhuangzhu.
