Zhangqiang Town, belonging to Kangping County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is located in the west of Kangping County, adjacent to erniusuokou town in the East, Dongsheng Manchu Mongolian Township and Liushutun Manchu Township in the south, shajintai Manchu Mongolian Township in the west, and Horqin Left wing rear banner in the north, with an administrative area of 147.67 square kilometers.
In 1880, Zhangqiang town belonged to Kangping County; in 1984, Zhangqiang township was changed; in the same year, Zhangqiang township was changed to town. By the end of 2018, the population of Zhang Qiang town registered residence was 26514. As of June 2020, Zhangqiang town has jurisdiction over one community and 14 administrative villages.

History of construction
In 1880, Zhangqiang town belonged to Kangping County.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was called five districts.
In 1949, it was changed into Zhangqiang town.
In 1959, Zhangqiang town commune was changed.
In 1961, it was renamed Zhang Qiang commune.
In 1984, it was changed into Zhangqiang township; in the same year, it was changed into a town.
