Qingju town

Qingju town is located in the southwest of Gaoping District of Nanchong, about 12 km away from the downtown of Nanchong, with a total area of 28 square kilometers (in 2017) and a total population of 11236 (in 2017). History follows

Located in Qingju Town, Gaoping District, Nanchong City (1km to the south of Qinglin Village), the site of Chunyou ancient city was built in the Chunyou period of the Southern Song Dynasty. It was a famous military site against Mongolia in Shu area of the Southern Song Dynasty. Qingju city was built from the 9th to 11th year of Chunyou (1249-1251). Because Qingju city was built in Chunyou period, it is called "Chunyou city" or "anti Mongolian fort". The total area of the site is about 2 square kilometers. In 1249, Yu Jie moved to Shunqing Prefecture and Nanchong county to Qingju City, where he mobilized the army of mianzhou (now Mianxian County in Shaanxi Province), and became a strong city among the "eight pillars of defense against Mongolia" with fishing, Daliang, Yunshan and other cities. However, in the sixth year of Baoyou (1258), when mengge led his army to Sichuan and the Mongolian army attacked Qingju, the General Liu Yuan killed the general Duan Yuanjian and descended to the city. After the Mongol army captured Qingju City, it took Qingju as the base to attack Diaoyu City. In the first year of Zhongtong (the first year of JINGDING of Song Dynasty, 1260), Kublai Khan built yuqingju, the commander-in-chief of Nandu, and moved the general military headquarters of the Mongol army to Qingju city. In 1279, the Yuan government returned Shunqing government and Nanchong county government to the old government. Chunyou's old city wall is 1-2 meters high and 1-4 meters thick, with a total length of about 500 meters. On the east side of Qingju, there is still a stone arch gate rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The gate is 1.52 meters wide, 2.5 meters high and 1.53 meters deep. On the inner arch of the gate is engraved with the wall inscription "the achievements of the fourth year of Xianfeng's fundraising, which will be repaired on June 20". There are still three cliff carvings of song and Ming Dynasties and one stone pond (called Tianchi) on Qingju mountain, which is 12.1 meters long, 7.8 meters wide and 3 meters deep, and has no dry water all the year round. The city walls and gates on the riverside were demolished during the construction of Qingju Hydropower Station. LINGJI temple and three cliff Buddhas built in 720 of the Tang Dynasty were destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution" and have been restored in recent years. On December 15, 1994, the site of Chunyou ancient city was declared as a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchong City by the people's Government of Nanchong City. Chen Yiqin and Chen Yibi, the ministers of rites in Ming Dynasty, and Lin Xiujie, one of the founders of the Red Army in northern Jiangxi, were born here.

Surrounding environment

Qingju town is adjacent to Yong'an and que'jia towns in Gaoping District and Wenfeng, Hexi and Qushui towns in Jialing district. There is a provincial road, Nanchong and Qianfeng. It used to be the central town in the south of Nanchong City for a long time, but its development is relatively slow in recent years. In 2003, it began to build a medium-sized power station at the corner of Jialing River. The town is divided into three parts by the power station, with the town primary school, the old power station and the town government (mainly) as the center.

economic development

The economy is mainly based on agriculture, mainly producing rice, corn, wheat, sweet potato, rapeseed, Guanggan, specialty Qingju winter vegetables, watermelon. Yanshan winter vegetable is a famous brand product of the whole province, which is the main sericulture base in Gaoping District. In recent years, the development has been accelerated, and the Yangtze River protection dike and the village road have been built one after another, which used to be one of the cross-country competition venues in the district. The new power station has been completed and put into use, and the towns seriously damaged by the new power station have been basically rebuilt. The two river crossing bridges, which started construction at the end of 2010, have been opened to traffic in the middle of 2012.

natural resources

There are abundant placer gold and zircon iron placer deposits, but they have not yet been developed. The scenery is beautiful. The green pines and cypresses on Qingju mountain are surrounded by smoke and clouds all the year round. It is known as "Qingju smoke tree" and used to be one of the eight scenic spots in Nanchong.
