Shuangjingzi Township

The land area of Shuangjingzi Township in Hami City is 7182.71 square kilometers. It belongs to desert mountainous terrain. The land surface is covered by desert vegetation such as Haloxylon ammodendron, flower seedlings, black firewood and butter grass, which is an important natural pasture in Hami City. The area has a vast territory. In addition to excellent desert grassland, it is rich in mineral resources, including gold, silver, copper, iron, lead, zinc, tungsten, manganese and other non-ferrous metals, as well as jade, crystal, mica, marble, granite and other mineral resources.

With a population of 1467 people (2017), the area has 12000 square kilometers of pasture, shouldering the heavy responsibility of 45000 head (piece) of livestock overwintering in Shuangjingzi Township, Baicheng Township and wulatai Township, and overwintering for as long as seven months every year. The herdsmen are Kazak and Uygur.
