Dangyuan Town, subordinate to Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Jingchuan County, adjacent to Yudu town in the East, Wangcun town in the south, Zhongyuan Township in Zhenyuan County of Qingyang City in the west, and Nanchuan Township in Zhenyuan County of Qingyang City in the north. The total administrative area is 132.83 square kilometers.

In the Qing Dynasty, there were six dishes. Before 1949, it was Baiquan Township first, and then dangyuan town. After 1949, the Party established its original district. In 1958, dangzhang Township, Zhongyuan District, Zhenyuan County was incorporated into the city. After communization, it belonged to Yudu commune.
