Baiyu Township
Baiyu Township, subordinate to Jiuzhi County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the southwest of Jiuzhi County, bordering ABA County, Sichuan Province in the southeast, Bama County in the south, waeryi Township in the northwest and suohu Rima Township in the northeast. It is 120 kilometers away from the county, with a total area of 1321.53 square kilometers.
In 1956, Baiyu district was established. In May 1984, Baiyu commune was changed into Baiyu township. By the end of 2018, the population of Baiyu Township registered residence was 5837. In 2019, Baiyu village governs five administrative villages: Longge village, Baiyu village, shepherd village, Kesuo village and Oko village.
Baiyu township is dominated by animal husbandry; the main economic sources of herdsmen are collecting Cordyceps and selling livestock, and the economic source is relatively single. It is a township with the lowest income level in Jiuzhi county.
History of construction
In 1956, Baiyu district was established.
In October 1958, the Red Star government was established.
In August 1959, it was renamed Baiyu commune.
In May 1984, Baiyu commune was changed into Baiyu township.
