evolution
Because it is located at the junction of the three mountains, no matter where you look, you can see three forks, so it is named Sancha. In July 1950, Maoba district was established in Longfeng District. At the end of the year, Wanzhai under its jurisdiction was put under the jurisdiction of Xuanen county. In March 1952, Maoba district was abolished and merged into Longfeng District and Qili district. In August 1952, the area under the jurisdiction of the former Maoba district was designated as the third district. It was renamed Sancha District in January 1957. It was changed into Dongfeng commune in November 1958. In May 1961, it was restored to Sancha district. In August 1975, it was changed into Sancha commune, and Lianhuachi and Maoba were divided into Qili commune
In 1996, Sancha Township covers an area of 203 square kilometers and has a population of 30000, of which Tujia nationality accounts for 10%. It has jurisdiction over hujiatai, Erfang, yanziba, yejiatai, sifangbei, hunshuihe, shaiba, shuijincao, Dayu, yangtianping, baiguoba, Hewan, matougou, erdingyan, maozhenba, xujiadaping, huiba, zhaojiacun, Dongbei, sanlifang, qingfengsi, yamuyu and Duanbei There are 26 administrative villages, including sanyuanba, Liziba and setangping.

Nostalgia
water conservancy
There is no large river in Sancha Township. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, water conservancy facilities such as reservoirs and ponds were backward, and it was quite difficult for the whole township to use water for production and living. After the land reform, Sancha began to build water conservancy in a planned way. In 1966, the Lianhuachi reservoir project in Sancha district was started. Later, due to the influence of the "Cultural Revolution", the project was forced to stop. In 1970, Maoba cunzhaigou reservoir was completed with a capacity of 700000 cubic meters, basically solving the problem of drinking water for local people and livestock. In 1978, the working group of the County Hydropower Bureau established the "pilot project of building drinking water pool for human and livestock" in Sancha district. In the autumn of the same year, Enshi region held a meeting on the construction of drinking water for human and livestock in Sancha, to promote the experience of building drinking water pool for human and livestock in our township. In 1980, the zuojiatang drinking water pool at Sanchakou was completed, with a capacity of 1.63 cubic meters. The difficulty of water use in the market town was alleviated. In order to thoroughly solve the problem of water use in the market town, the Party committee and government of Sancha Township have repeatedly invited municipal water conservancy experts to investigate the water sources around the market town and find the best place to build the reservoir. In October 1999, the survey results of the municipal water conservancy and Fisheries Bureau and the provincial geological engineering team showed that the dahegou reservoir, which is 1.5 km away from the market town, can be built. In March 2002, Enshi Municipal Development Planning Bureau and Enshi Municipal Water Resources and Fisheries Bureau officially approved the project construction of sanchadahegou reservoir. On June 28, the project broke down. After the start of the project, the builders braved the wind and snow, and built a 23 meter high dam in the dangerous terrain and inconvenient traffic. On September 18 of the next year, the reservoir was successfully completed! The corresponding storage capacity of the reservoir is 103500 cubic meters, which can provide 580 cubic meters of production and domestic water to the market towns and the surrounding three villages every day, completely solving the difficulties of the market towns and the surrounding areas. Today, there are about 1100 ponds and 6500 small drinking water cellars (pools) in the township, and the problem of people's difficulty in drinking water has been basically solved.
Agriculture
Sancha Township has been doing a solid job in agricultural production, so the work of flood control and water and soil conservation has also achieved remarkable results. Lianhuachi is the main rice producing area in the township. However, due to the high and steep slopes of sizhoushan and the inflow of streams such as lengshuigou, 800 mu of farmland in the past was affected by floods almost every year and the yield was very low. In 1951, Enshi county Party committee organized more than 800 workers in Sancha, Qili and other districts. Peng Jiji and Yang nanxuan were responsible for the construction. They excavated a drainage ditch 860 meters in the west of Lianhua pool to lead the water to Maoba river. In August of the next year, the earth bank of the drainage ditch was destroyed by the flood. In 1953, the county Party committee sent Wang Jian to organize more than 100 people to excavate silt, reinforce the retaining wall, and dredge the drainage ditch. In 1975, Qili commune organized labor to start the project of "eliminating weizitai and rebuilding Longtan Dam". On November 20, the Longtan dam project officially started. After nearly four months of fighting, the Weizi terrace of Lianhuachi was blown up, and the cold soaked fields were filled with red sand and stone. More than 800 mu of farmland benefited from this. Since the 1950s, Sancha has been carrying out the transformation from slope to ladder, and actively carrying out the work of soil and water conservation. In 1957, Sanyuan Township, Sancha District, the experience of changing slope to terrace was popularized in the whole county and awarded by the State Council. In order to fundamentally solve the problem of soil erosion, the township vigorously promotes the combination of biological control and engineering control. First, continue to build water conservancy facilities such as ditches; second, implement artificial afforestation and returning farmland to forest. Now, the natural forest protection project in Sancha Township has implemented 204929 mu, and the conversion of farmland to forest project has completed 3664.6 mu.
education
The cultural, educational and health undertakings in the township developed rapidly. There are 1 middle school, 14 full-time primary schools, 1 teaching point, 4709 students and 230 teaching staff in the township. The establishment of public primary school in Sancha Township began in May 1950, when it was called Sancha primary school in Longfeng District, which was the predecessor of the current Township Central Primary School. After that, primary schools began to be set up everywhere. In 1958, Sancha Township began to set up a junior high school, known as Enshi No.8 Middle School, which was abolished in 1961. In 1966, Sanchakou middle school was rebuilt, known as Enshi No.10 middle school. Three years later, all communes in Sancha set up junior high schools. In 1980, the middle schools in the whole district were merged into Sancha middle school, yamuyu middle school and Hewan middle school. In 1993, the three middle schools were merged into Sancha middle school, which is now the largest middle school in the surrounding area. From 1971 to 1983, Sancha junior high school set up a hat wearing senior high school class and trained more than 2000 senior high school graduates.
medical care
The medical and health undertakings in Sancha Township developed early. Because it is the main road leading to Dongxiang, the population flow is large. Many people have been practicing medicine here since ancient times. In 1880, the grandfather of Chen de Nu Yu opened a Chinese medicine shop in Sancha market town, which has been handed down to three generations. Sancha health center, formerly known as a health center, has been growing ever since. In 1985, there were 38 beds, 54 medical and management personnel, 31599 patients and 316 inpatients, but the utilization rate of beds was only 12.1%. In the 21st century, the development of Sancha health center is accelerating, and it has been equipped with B-ultrasound machine, anesthesia ventilator, X-ray machine and other advanced medical equipment. At the same time, the hospital also sent medical staff to the state and city hospitals for further study to improve the professional level. In 2003, the business income of the hospital broke through the million yuan mark for the first time. Now there are 96 medical staff in the township and 26 village level clinics in each village, which fully meet the medical needs of the people in the township.
Since the implementation of family planning, our township has widely publicized the family planning policy, actively organized the activity of "new trend of marriage and childbirth into thousands of families", and seriously carried out the "three checks and three implementation" for women of childbearing age. The work of family planning in the whole township has been creating a new situation. In 1995 and 2000, our township was awarded advanced collective by National Family Planning Association. In 2001, it was also rated as the advanced unit of "marriage and childbirth new trend into ten thousand families" by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and the National Family Planning Commission. twenty
