Baimapu Township

Baimapu township is located 8 kilometers west of Meishan County, covering an area of 39 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 19 agricultural economic associations, with 26589 mu of cultivated land and a total population of 20669, of which 97.6% is agricultural population. Baimapu township is a typical agricultural township. It is located in a shallow hill with yellow soil, about 450 meters above sea level. The daily average temperature is 18 OC, the frost free period is 318 days, the annual rainfall is more than 1000 mm, and there is no natural river in the township. Tongjiyan, built in 1956, runs through 80% of the villages in the township. Among them, the irrigation area of tielugou electric power pumping irrigation station ranks first in the whole region, and the per capita grain consumption is more than 500 kg, with the highest proportion Orange based fruit industry and fish breeding industry are the two pillar industries of the township, which have achieved 1 mu orchard per capita and 1 fish pond per household.

Baimapu township has obvious transportation and geographical advantages. The market town is 90 km away from Chengdu, 8 km away from Meishan railway station and 8 km away from the county. Meihong highway runs through the territory. Provincial highway 106 runs through 9 villages in the area, 23 groups, 8.3 km long. The villages are connected with cement roads and the communities are connected with tractor roads, so the traffic is convenient. The Jingju temple and Guanyin Temple of the Ming Dynasty in baimapu township are visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year. Baimapu township has realized four links in every village, namely: cement road, telephone, FM radio and fiber TV; one mu orchard per household, one fish pond per household, one well per household and one biogas digester per household.

Township Development

Baimapu township's economy and other social undertakings are developing at the same time. In 1996, baimapu Township took the lead in stepping into the ranks of well-off township. For four consecutive years, it was rated as an advanced Party committee by Meishan County Party committee. In 1998, it was officially named as a well-off Township by Meishan Prefecture Party committee executive office and awarded the title of advanced township party committee by Sichuan provincial Party committee. The comprehensive management of social security has been awarded the title of model town by the county Party committee and the county government for three consecutive years. Baimapu Township family planning work for many years was rated as the county's advanced, participated in the Meishan County "world show Cup" games in 2000, won the sports ethics and fashion award, the fourth man's basketball team, won the banner. In 2000, the education industry achieved the best results in history. Among them, one of the fifth grade primary school students won the first prize and five of them won the second prize in the regional mathematics knowledge competition. Two of the third grade junior middle school students got the recommendation qualification of Meizhong and Meiyi middle school. Hu Zhongjun won the first prize in the Chinese physics knowledge single subject competition and entered the top 12 of Sichuan Province.
