Shajing Street

Shajing street, belonging to Bao'an District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Shenzhen City, on the East Bank of the Pearl River Estuary. It is adjacent to Gongming Office of Guangming New District in the East, Fuyong street in the south, Pearl River Estuary in the west, Changan Town of Dongguan city across Maozhou River, and Songgang street in the north. As of August 2015, the 29 communities in Sha Tin Street, with an area of 60 square kilometers, have a population of about 1 million 300 thousand (33 thousand of registered residence population). Shajing is the hometown of overseas Chinese. There are more than 60000 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in Shajing, which are distributed in more than 20 countries and regions in the world.

In 2010, Shajing Street achieved an output value of 75.781 billion yuan of Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, 6.556 billion US dollars of processing trade exports, and 3.997 billion yuan of tax revenue.

Shajing street has four ancient villages with relatively complete historical features, and more than 100 ancient buildings, such as Yongxing bridge, Shajing Zeng's ancestral hall, etc. Shajing street is a "national demonstration site for building civilized small towns", "a strong education town in Guangdong Province" and "an advanced unit for building spiritual civilization in China".

Historical evolution

In ancient times, Shajing was once called Longjin. In the middle of Southern Song Dynasty, the area around Shajing was still guide salt farm. Because Chen Chaoju moved into the Yongkou of guide salt farm, there was a lot of sand flowing into the sea, so the place name was Shajing.

In 1949, Shajing township was established.

In 1959, Shajing commune was established.

In 1983, it was changed to Shajing district.

Shajing Town was established in 1986. Until 2004, Shajing Town was a big industrial town.

In 2004, Shagang town was abolished and Longjing town was urbanized.

Shajing street is located in the northwest of Shenzhen, south of Tropic of cancer, Lingdingyang at the mouth of Pearl River in the west, Gongming Office of Guangming New District in the East, Fuyong street in the south, Changan Town of Dongguan City across Maozhou River, and Songgang street in the north. In 2014, Shajing street had a total area of 60 square kilometers.

Geology and geomorphology

The main soil types of Shajing Street are paddy soil, red soil, vegetable garden soil, coastal saline swamp soil and coastal sandy soil.

The terrain of Shajing street is relatively flat, inclining to the sea from east to west. The terrain is mainly plain and hilly, belonging to the coastal plain area of western Shenzhen. There is Maozhou river drainage system in Shajing street, which originates from the northern foot of Yangtai mountain, flows from east to west, and then flows into Lingdingyang through Shajing Minzhu village.

The coastline of Shajing street is about 2.75km long, with flat coastline, gentle slope and shallow water, belonging to muddy coast.

Shajing street, with an area of 200000 mu, is one of the "three high" aquaculture bases in Shenzhen, mainly in Taishan, Shanwei, Yangjiang and other places.
