Erlongshan Reservoir is located in the northwest of Shangluo City, upstream of Danjiang River, 4 km away from the city center. The dam of the reservoir is 63.7 meters high. The total storage capacity is 80 million cubic meters, and the maximum water area is 5490 mu. The average water area is 3420 mu, the altitude of the reservoir area is 720-1300 m, the annual average temperature is 12.6 ℃, the annual average rainfall is 720 mm, and the reservoir controls the upper reaches of Danjiang River with an area of 965 square kilometers. Since its completion in 1973, the reservoir has brought great social and economic benefits in flood control, power generation, irrigation, urban water supply and aquaculture.

Erlongshan Reservoir is also known as Xian'e lake because it is located in the famous "Xian'e River" in history. As early as the Tang Dynasty, many literati, such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, traveled thousands of miles here to chant poems, set off boats and visit. Since then, it has become a tourist attraction in the ancient capital Chang'an. In recent years, Erlongshan Reservoir has become a good place for tourism, leisure and fishing. There are a large number of tourists and fishermen playing and fishing on holidays and weekends. It is not only the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful scenery, but also the interest of fishing. Besides Shangzhou citizens, a large number of tourists come from Xi'an. One of the reasons for the large number of foreign fishermen's patronage is the close distance. For example, it takes only two hours for fishermen from Xi'an to come to Shangzhou by bus. Second, Erlongshan Reservoir dam is only 1 km away from Shangzhou City, which is very convenient for food and lodging. Third, since the completion of the reservoir, a large number of carp, grass and silver carp fry have been put in every year. In addition to the large number of wild fish breeding, the catfish, Baitiao, crucian carp and other fish species inhabited here can be fished everywhere, and the fish feeding rate is high. When fishing in Erlongshan Reservoir, you only need to stir fry soybean cake with corn grits or wheat flour, add a certain amount of Qu Jiu, or fish feed with a certain amount of Qu Jiu, and knead it into a ball with reservoir water. However, earthworms were used as bait in early spring to catch more fish. Before fishing, it is necessary to make a nest to attract fish. Experienced and time-consuming fishermen often make a nest to attract fish in a fixed place for four or five days in a row, which often leads to unexpected results.
