Rongma Township

Located in NIMA County in the north of Tibet and northwest of Naqu City, it is located in the great lake basin of Qiangtang plateau, with Kunlun Mountain and Kekexili mountain in the north and Gangdise mountain in the south.

Nima County governs the township. It is located in the northernmost part of the county, adjacent to Shuanghu County in the East and Gaize County in the West. Mineral resources include gold, borax, alkali, salt, crystal, copper, iron, etc. Wild animal resources include wild yak, wild donkey, Tibetan antelope, yellow sheep, argali, bear, black necked Crane, etc.

Economic Specialty

The economy is dominated by animal husbandry. Only highland barley, rape and rootless crops are planted sporadically in the south, and the rest are pure animal husbandry areas. It mainly raises yak, goat and sheep. the handicraft industry mainly processes card mats and gold and silver handicrafts. The special product is cashmere of Kashmir, which is famous both at home and abroad.

There are many lakes in the area, all of which are typical plateau closed lakes. The main lakes are dangreyongcuo, angzicuo, buruocuo and ibchaka. The elevation of the lake is more than 4500 meters, of which the elevation of buruocuo lake is 5158 meters. The natural conditions are poor and it is difficult to get rid of poverty. Here, lakes, snow mountains and blue sky are integrated to make people appreciate the true artistic conception of heaven and earth on the northern Tibetan Plateau.
