Haicheng Town
Haicheng township is located in the eastern suburb of Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province. It has seven administrative villages, covering 138 square kilometers, 106000 mu of cultivated land and 56000 mu of grassland. Haicheng township is the east gate of Zhaodong city. Suizhao highway runs through the East and West, and is connected with Zhaodong city by highway. It is 60 kilometers away from Harbin, the provincial capital, 70 kilometers away from Daqing, 30 kilometers away from Lanxi in the East, and only 10 miles away from Zhaodong city in the West. Historical evolution
Haicheng township was originally under the jurisdiction of Zhaodong county. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was divided into the eighth and the thirteenth districts. In March 1956, Changshan township was set up. In September 1958, Changshan people's commune was established by merging with Wujian township. In January 1960, it was incorporated into Shangjia commune. In April of the next year, Changshan commune was set up from Shangjia commune. In August 1978, the commune moved from changshanpu village to its present site. Chenjiadian village on the north side of Lanzhao highway. In May 1981, the place name was changed to Haicheng commune because of its duplicate name with the local commune. In April 1984, it was changed to Haicheng township.
