Ping'an Township
Ping'an Township, subordinate to Fengjie County of Chongqing, is located in the northwest corner of Fengjie County. It is connected with Huangyang township of Wuxi County in the East, Zhuyuan Township and Qinglian town in the south, Shatuo town of Yunyang County in the West and Wenfeng town of Wuxi County in the north. It is 46.1km away from the residence of Fengjie County Government, with a total area of 127.11km2.
In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, Ping'an Township belonged to Shuili on the north bank; in October 1983, it was changed from Ping'an commune to Ping'an township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Ping An township was 21062. As of June 2020, Pingan village has jurisdiction over 1 community and 11 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in group 2 of Pingan village.
The main food crops in Ping'an township are corn, potatoes and sweet potato, and the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry. In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in Ping'an Township, including one above scale and three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
Ping'an township is named for its yearning for peace.
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belongs to Shuili on the north bank.
During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Pingan Cao township.
In the eighth year of the Republic of China (1919), it belonged to Zhuzi group. In 1930, it belonged to Zhuzi township. In 1933, it was under the jurisdiction of Zhuyuan town. In February 1953, Ping'an township was established from Zhuyuan township.
On January 29, 1955, the Hequ district was merged into the township, and Tiantai township was merged into Ping'an township; on December 21, 1955, Ping'an township was merged into shuangdian Township, belonging to the bamboo park.
In November 1958, it belonged to shuangdian commune.
In October 1961, shuangdian commune was divided into shuangdian commune and Ping'an commune.
In October 1983, Ping'an commune was changed into Ping'an township.
