Jicun town
Jicun town is located in the northwest of Xintian County, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, 8 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Longquan town and menlouxia Yao Township in the southeast and Ningyuan county and Qiyang County in the northwest. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, surrounded by mountains on three sides.
Historical evolution
Jicun town uses the original natural place names. It is said that an official went to the countryside on horseback for inspection and went to the mountain side to the north of the village. Later, the villagers praised the horse the official rode as "Ji" and named it Jicun. at the beginning of liberation, the town belonged to the second district. Jicun township was established in 1956. Jicun commune in 1958. In 1961, Jicun commune was divided into Tianjia commune, Lengshuijing commune and Jicun commune. In 1961, the residence of Jicun commune was moved to Lijiashan village. In 1984, it was changed into a township. In 1986, Jicun township was abolished and Jicun town was established. On November 20, 2015, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 54) approved to abolish the system of Lengshuijing Township and adjust some administrative divisions of Longquan and Jicun towns. Liujiashan, Hejia, Lengshuijing, liuhewei, Lijiawan and jiuqiutian villages in the former Lengshuijing Township were merged into Jicun town; liufangqiao villages in Jicun town were merged into Longquan town.

Economic overview
The mountainous area is dominated by forestry, and the hilly area is one of the main grain producing areas. There are two forest farms, one is the county run state-owned forest farm (county feiyuan forest farm is located in the west of the town), and the other is the town run forest farm. Since the 1990s, the town has made great efforts to develop high-quality fruits. Now 8000 mu of fruits have been planted, including Naili, loquat, citrus, etc.
