Shandai Town, belonging to tumetzuo banner, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of tumetzuo banner, bordering on tabsai Township in the East, Wushen town of Tuoketuo County in the south, zhijiliang Township in the West and chasuqi town in the north, with a total area of 206.68 square kilometers.
In 1736, a market town was formed in shandai area. In 2006, 12 villages of Dadai Township were assigned to shandai town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Shan Dai town was 47689. In 2019, shandai town governs 28 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in shandai village.
In 2018, shandai town has 14 industrial enterprises and 12 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In 1736, shandai was a market town. In 1739 (the fourth year of Qianlong's reign in Qing Dynasty), the Qing government set up shandai assistant magistrate to govern the town. On the 25th year of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1760), the assistant judge was abolished and put under Salaqi hall.
In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), it belonged to the fifth Supervision Office of tumed special banner.
In 1950, it was returned to District 5 of Tumet banner.
In 1954, it belonged to salazi county.
In 1958, Salaqi county was incorporated into Tumet banner and shandai town was established; in the same year, it was changed into red star commune.
In 1961, it was renamed shandai commune.
In 1984, shandai commune improved Dai township.
In June 1986, shandai town was improved.
In 2001, five villages in Hasu Township were merged into shandai town.
In 2006, 12 villages of Dadai Township were assigned to shandai town.
