Jianguo township is under the jurisdiction of Baiquan County. It is located in the northeast of the county, bordering Kedong County in the East and Keshan County in the north. The township government is 30 kilometers away from the county seat. In early 1984, it was changed into Jianguo township. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 21000. The township government is located in Jianguo village.

The township government is 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Jianguo township is high in the West and low in the East. The tributaries of Runjin river flow through the territory. There are Shengli and Dazhi reservoirs, with 155000 mu of cultivated land. The main crops are corn, soybean, sorghum, potato and so on. Animal husbandry to raise horses, cattle, and has built a livestock breeding farm. Township industry has starch, flour, iron wood complex factory.
Historical evolution
Jianguo township is located in tianfengtun area. After the middle of Qing Dynasty, it was a nomadic land in yikeming'an banner. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, in 1900 (the 26th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), people named Tian Feng came here to open up wasteland and gradually settled down, so it was named "Tian Feng Tun". In 1906 (the 32nd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty), it was under the jurisdiction of Baiquan County. during the period of the Republic of China and the enemy occupied Northeast China, Tian Fengtun was also known as Taipingzhuang. After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was changed into Jianguo village in 1947, under the jurisdiction of the Tenth District of Baiquan County. In March 1956, Jianguo township was set up instead of Jianguo township. In September 1958, it was changed into Jianguo people's commune. In early 1984, it was changed to Jianguo township.
