Hulan town
Hulan Town, formerly known as Hulan city. It is under the jurisdiction of Hulan District. It is located in the south of the county, on the left bank of Hulan River, 25 km (highway) away from Harbin, the provincial capital. The transportation is well developed.
Historical evolution
In the early Qing Dynasty, Hulan city was set up as a garrison. There is no city in the beginning. In August 1879 (July of the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), Hulan city became the site of the deputy Dutong after the garrison of Hulan city was promoted to the deputy Dutong. In 1900 (the 26th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), the vice capital of Hulan, in order to prevent the invasion of tsarist Russia, dug trenches and built embankments around Hulan city. The moat is 2.6 meters wide and 3 meters high. The moat is surrounded by the city on three sides, with a total length of 3.75 kilometers. To the south is the Hulan River. In 1905 (the 31th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), Hulan Prefecture was set up and became the city of Fu. Fucheng is divided into North and south areas. In 1911 (the third year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty), Wang Shuncun, the governor of Hulan Prefecture, opened the West Street. In the center of the city, a cross street was formed, with the length of the North-South street of 2.75 km and the east-west street of 2.65 km. After the founding of the Republic of China, the government was changed into a county in 1913, which became Hulan County. After the fall of Northeast China, it was named Hulan street in June 1939. After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, Chengguan District became the first district in 1949. In August 1955, the first district was changed into Hulan town. In September 1958, it was renamed Hulan commune.
A brief introduction to the town
Hulan town has a long history of nearly 260 years. In the South and west of the city, it is close to Hulan River, with double curved arch bridge across the river; in the west, there is Xigang Park, with beautiful scenery. It is the most developed industrial and commercial area in the county. A large number of new and old factories and shops are distributed throughout the city. The provincial Hulan match factory was built in 1928, and the county hemp textile factory has 2500 employees. Township owned enterprises include stove factory, plastic factory, boiler factory, etc. some products have won the titles of provincial and ministerial excellent products respectively. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises exceeded 100 million yuan. There are 19800 mu of cultivated land in the rural areas of the town, mainly for vegetable production, which is well-known in the province. In 1990, 1596 tons of fresh milk, 1001 tons of eggs and 98000 adult birds were produced. there are 10 streets and main roadways in the town, with a total length of 18.3 km and asphalt and gravel pavement. In addition to 10 streets in the town, it also governs four villages in the suburbs of Yongxing, Fuqiang, Weiguang and Yuanye. At the end of 1992, the total population of the town was 101000, including 88000 non-agricultural population; the population of Manchu, Hui, Korean and other ethnic minorities accounted for 2.6% of the total population. The town government is located in the town. Xiao Hong's former residence is located in the southeast corner of the town, which is a cultural relic protection unit in Heilongjiang Province.
