Lianhua town
Lianhua Town, belonging to Linxia County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Linxia County, on the South Bank of the Yellow River. It is adjacent to Liujiaxia Reservoir in the East, North and West, facing Hetan Town, Yongjing County, Yangta Township, Jishishan county and Yinchuan township of Dongxiang Autonomous County. It is bounded by Nanping mountain in the South and adjacent to Nanyuan Township. The area is 40.8 square kilometers. In 2018, 7566 people registered residence.
In 1370, the Lotus Village was built. In 1900, Yang Zengxin, the governor of Hezhou, recruited soldiers and civilians to build lotus fort. In 1950, Lianhua town was changed into a district, and later into Lianhua district. In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. In September 1958, Lianhua people's commune was established under the jurisdiction of Linxia city. At the end of 1961, Lianhua commune was subordinate to Yongjing county. In April 1966, Lianhua commune was transferred to Linxia city. In 1983, the township was changed. In 2004, Lianhua township was replaced by Lianhua town. In October 2019, Lianhua town has five administrative villages.
In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in Lianhua Town, with four comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
