Xinhua Street
Xinhua Street is the political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological center of Huadu District in Guangzhou. It is the seat of CPC Guangzhou Huadu District Committee and people's government. It is located in the south of Huadu District. The Beijing Guangzhou railway, national highway 107 and national highway 106 run through the whole street from North to south. The waterway connects the Pearl River from Bajiang river. There are Huadu port, Guangzhou north station and Guangzhou New Baiyun International Airport in the street.
The total area of the street is 29.81 square kilometers. The population of the street is 369100. It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages and 32 communities.
Evolution of organizational system
On May 21, 2000, the State Council approved the abolition of Huadu and the establishment of Huadu District in Guangzhou, with the District People's Government stationed in Xinhua Town.
On February 4, 2005, the Department of civil affairs of Guangdong Province (No. 10, Yuemin District) approved the abolition of Xinhua Town in Huadu District of Guangzhou and the establishment of Xinhua Street (officially implemented on May 28).
In 2013, the administrative divisions of Huadu District were adjusted in the reply on approving Guangzhou to adjust some administrative divisions of Huadu District issued by the Department of civil affairs of Guangdong Province. Yayao town was abolished and Xinya street was set up, including Xiuquan street and Huacheng Street (No. 18, Yuemin District). Specifically, Xinya street is established by merging Yunfeng community of Xinhua street with six administrative villages of Dongjing, Dongguan, Shitang, qingtubu, GUANGTANG and Tuanjie and the original Yayao town; Xinya street is established by dividing HongMian and Yabao communities of Xinhua Street and seven administrative villages of Letong, Dabu, guanxi, JiuTan, Zhucun, Qishan and Maxi; Xiuquan street is established by dividing Baihe, Guihua, Meihua and Zizi of Xinhua street Four communities in Weixi, three administrative villages in Dahua, Sandong and Gongyi, and six administrative villages in Shiling Town, including Luoxian, Yangyi, Yanger, Shigang, Dongbian and Changgang, have set up Huacheng street.
On January 8, 2014, three sub district offices were officially established.
