Chenjia
Chenjia Town, subordinate to Chongming District of Shanghai, is located in the easternmost part of Chongming Island, on the coast of the East China Sea and the estuary of the Yangtze River. It is strategically located at the intersection of China's T-shaped land development axis (coastal axis and Yangtze River axis). It is the first town of the Yangtze River, the largest river in China. It is 41.6km away from the urban area, bordering on the modern agricultural park of Shanghai industrial group company in the East, the estuary of the Yangtze River in the south, Zhongxing town across the river in the northwest, and Dongwang community of new Yangtze River Farm in the north. The total area is 82.31 square kilometers, with 64100 mu of arable land and 1009.6 square kilometers of administrative water area. There are 6 neighborhood committees, 20 administrative villages, 2 aquaculture farms and 2 municipal dairy health farms in the town. 62395 people in the whole town (2017).
On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of national health towns (counties) to be reconfirmed in 2019.
Historical evolution
In March 1987, the commune and brigade were removed, and townships and villages were established. Chenzhen Township in the South governs 20 villages, and Yu'an Township in the North governs 18 villages.
In March 1994, Yu'an township was renamed Yu'an town; in February 1995, Chen Town township was renamed Chenjia town. Until the end of 2000, the villages under the jurisdiction of the two towns remained unchanged.
In December 2000, the former Chenjia town and the former Yu'an town were merged into Chenjia Town, which governed 38 administrative villages of the former two towns.
In 2002, the 38 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Chenjia town were adjusted to 21 according to the overall requirements of Chongming District adjustment.
There are also three resident committees in Chenjia town. Yuhong neighborhood committee was established in 1997, Yingchen neighborhood committee was established in 2002, and Yuhong Jiayuan neighborhood committee was established in 2008. Chenzhen commune was established in 1958, renamed Chenjia commune in 1980, set up Township in 1984 and established town in 1995. In 1997, with an area of 33 square kilometers and a population of 30000, it has jurisdiction over 20 village committees in Lixin, liangzhongchang, Donghai, Xinqiao, Xinbei, maojiaqiao, Yingdong, Chaoyang, Renmin, Dingqiao, iron tower, Xielong, Binjiang, Bazhen, Xinxie, Xiyu, Chenxi, chennan, Chendong and Chenjia towns. In December 2000, Chenjia town and Yu'an town were abolished and a new Chenjia town was established. In 2004, it had jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees, Yuhong and Yingchen, and 21 villages, including Lixin, Xinqiao, iron tower, Donghai, Chaoyang, chennan, Yingdong, Chenxi, Bazhen, Xielong, xijiagang, Huapiao, Chenguang, Deyun, Yufeng, Xianfeng, Hongtian, Yubei, Zhanhong, Yu'an and Yuxi.
The former Yu'an town is located in the southeast of Chongming Island, where the Yangtze River flows into the sea, 43 kilometers away from the county seat. Yu'an commune was established in 1958, township was established in 1984, and town was established in 1994. In 1997, with an area of 45.2 square kilometers and a population of 29000, it has jurisdiction over 18 village committees including Yuxin, Xianfeng, Yufeng, Yunan, Dengta, Hongtian, Yudong, Yubei, Huapiao, Yuzhong, Xingwang, Zhanhong, Chenguang, Yu'an, Yongdong, Yuxi, Deyun and Jinxiu.

In 2004, it has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages, 2 communities and 475 villager groups. In 2011, there were 3 communities and 21 administrative villages in the town.

Chenjia town is located at the easternmost end of Chongming Island, on the coast of the East China Sea, at the mouth of the Yangtze River, 43.6km away from Chongming district. It borders on the modern agricultural park of Shanghai Industrial Group in the East, renhaikou of the Yangtze River in the south, Baji port in the West, across the river from Zhongxing Town, and the outpost community of new Changjiang Farm in the north. The geographical coordinates are 120 ° 0'48 "E and 31 ° 0'30" n. Chenjia town covers an area of 82.31 square kilometers.
Due to its special geographical location, since the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel and Bridge in 2009, Chenjia town has leapt from the original "corner of the island" to the external gateway of Chongming Island. At the same time, Chongming Dongtan bird National Nature Reserve, which is adjacent to Chenjia Town, plays an important role in ecological protection.

In 2004, the total number of households in Chenjia town was 26296, with a population of 57013, including 5083 non-agricultural population, 2475 migrant population and 31187 labor force. In 2011, the permanent population of Chenjia town was 60044, with 26611 households.

In 2004, the added value of the town was 49021900 yuan, including 149822200 yuan for the first industry, 229585000 yuan for the second industry and 110804700 yuan for the third industry. The total output value of the enterprise is 876.62 million yuan and the total profit is 69 million yuan.
In 2010, the added value reached 1.122 billion, up 13.4% year on year. In 2013, the added value of the whole town was 1.235 billion yuan, the fiscal revenue of town level was 120 million yuan, and the per capita disposable income of rural households was 15872 yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 10.2%.
Agriculture
Adhere to the goal of increasing agricultural efficiency and farmers' income, adjust and optimize the structure of agricultural production, and realize a virtuous cycle of agricultural production and ecology. In 2013, the town has 1650 mu of summer grain, 2600 mu of green manure, 1850 mu of rape, 7500 mu of corn and 14000 mu of rice. The annual grain production has achieved a good harvest. The aquaculture area of the whole town is 17000 mu, that of fish and crab is 3000 mu, and that of freshwater fish is 4000 mu. The output and benefit of aquaculture have increased over the previous year. The construction of agricultural infrastructure has been intensified. We have completed the flood dredging project; completed the construction of Lixin, Yuxi and Zhanhong village level comprehensive service stations for agriculture; implemented the river maintenance project in Yuxi and Zhanhong villages; completed the reconstruction of rural water system, added road culverts and supporting irrigation channels, increased the maintenance and inspection of small and medium-sized rivers, and further improved the water environment. We will strengthen the control of agricultural non-point source pollution and the responsibility supervision of agricultural product safety. The publicity of banning straw burning was strengthened, and 12000 mu of straw was returned to the field. We established a team of agricultural product safety supervisors, strengthened the detection of pesticide residues in vegetables, and carried out publicity on safe drug use. 5500 samples of pesticide residues were sampled throughout the year, with a qualified rate of 100%. We strengthened the conservation and management of public welfare forests, and completed the tending and thinning of 7000 mu of public welfare forests. Livestock and poultry epidemic prevention work was carried out in an orderly manner. We will comprehensively prevent and control avian influenza and other epidemic diseases, and do a good job in closing poultry markets and distributing subsidies. The planting area of cauliflower, crisp taro and other characteristic vegetables was expanded, and the cultivation mode of rice crab loach was explored. We promoted the standardization of cooperatives, registered 317 farmers' professional cooperatives in the town, and obtained 15 national, municipal and county-level key cooperatives.
Xiyu village is a professional village specializing in marine fishing production. It is the largest mass fishing unit in the suburbs of Shanghai, and its total offshore fishing boats account for about one third of the whole city. By the end of 2004, it had 141 fishing vessels of various types, with a total tonnage of 10595 tons, a total horsepower of 21929 kW, a total fixed assets of more than 50 million yuan, and a gross output value of 62.11 million yuan, all of which were derived from fishery production.
Chenjia town's tidal flat is the main producing area of eel fry known as soft gold and natural crab fry of Chinese mitten crab. It has decades of fishing history and more than 10 years of crab culture history. It has more than 20000 mu of intensive crab culture area, 8000 mu of rice crab symbiosis area and 238000 Mu of crab culture outside the island. The town has the largest crab market in East China, providing 300 million crab species to crab farmers all over the country every year. In 2005, cauliflower planting developed rapidly. In 2007, cauliflower planting area was 13280 mu, melon planting area was 5512 mu, annual vegetable planting was 41989 mu. In 2007, in addition to open field planting, 800 mu of facility vegetables were added.
The whole village has 2687 mu of cultivated land. From 1985 to 1990, three wheat rape was mainly planted; in 1991, crab culture started; by 1995, one third of the land had excavated crab ponds; by 2000, the area of crab ponds had expanded to more than 70% of the total cultivated land; by the end of 2004, more than 98% of the village's cultivated land had been used for crab culture.
Industry
