Zheng'an Street

Zheng'an Street (formerly Zhen'an town) belongs to Kaizhou District of Chongqing. It is located at the intersection of Nanhe River and Taoxi river. It is only about 4 km away from the urban area of Kaizhou district (northern New Area). It is the nearest town from the urban area of Kaizhou.

It covers an area of 46 square kilometers and has a population of 26995 (2018). It has jurisdiction over Zihui community, Shuangfeng community, Fengsheng community, Bajiao, liaoye, Baihua, Zhen'an, Yonggong, Xiema and Fengtai communities and 7 administrative villages. Provincial Highway Kaizhou Liangping highway Hanlin section high grade road transit.

In August 2020, Zhen'an town will be abolished and Zheng'an Street will be established.

Zhenan town of Kaizhou district has since withdrawn from the historical stage.

Historical evolution

Zhenanchang township was established in 1930, renamed zhenanxiang in 1940, changed to commune in 1958, restored to township in 1983 and established in 1992.

In 1997, it covers an area of 54 square kilometers and has a population of 28000. It has jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages in Zhen'an, wusheng, Xiaoxi, Qili, Luping, Yonggong, Nanjiang, Cuiping, Yuanbao, Xiema, Sangou, Xinghe, Guanzi, Fengtai, Yongsheng, Gaopo, Hewan, Shuanglong, Baihua, Bajiao, liaoye, Huashi and a neighborhood committee of Lagerstroemia indica.

In 2004, Zihui community was retained and 22 administrative villages were adjusted to 9 administrative villages, namely Bajiao, liaoye, Baihua, Zhen'an, Yonggong, Xiema, Xinghe, Fengtai and Guanzi. The town covers an area of 55 square kilometers and has a population of 29582. The town government is located in Ziwei street.

In 2005, Zihui community was under the jurisdiction of Bajiao, liaoye, Baihua, Zhen'an, Yonggong, Xiema, Xinghe, Guanzi, Fengtai 9 administrative villages and 82 villager groups.

In 2009, Guanzi and Xinghe villages were put under the jurisdiction of Yunfeng street.

In August 2020, Chongqing Municipal People's Government approved the abolition of Zhen'an town and the establishment of Zheng'an street. Zheng'an Street governs the administrative region of the former Zhen'an Town, and the sub district office is located at No. 8 Longjiang street, Ziwei community (the resident of the former Zhen'an Town People's Government).

In 2005, the total grain output of the town was 13047 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 7.4%. The per capita increase of grain was 55 kg, and the total industrial and agricultural output value was 113.86 million yuan, including 60.41 million yuan of private economic output value, 2178 yuan of per capita net income, with a year-on-year increase of 240 yuan. The full caliber fiscal revenue was 6.63 million yuan, realizing a fiscal balance and balance of revenue and expenditure. 8573 labor forces were effectively transferred, 720 labor forces were trained, and labor income was 53.47 million yuan. The family planning rate was 90.36%.

Four residential areas, Baihua, liaoye, Xiema and Xinghe, have been established, and four well-off villages have been built, with an urbanization rate of 18.91%; the town has raised 7.8 million yuan to attract three owners to invest in the town, and now there are 42 large and small enterprises in the town.
