Shuiquan town
Shuiquan Town, belonging to Tuquan County, Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Tuquan County, bordering Taonan City, Jilin Province in the East, Taiping Township in the southwest and West, Tuquan town in the northwest, Jiulong Township and Duerji town in the north. The area of Shui Quan town is 621.25 square kilometers, and by the end of 2018, the registered residence population is 20706.
In the first year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty (1909), reclamation households began to live in Shuiquan area; in the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), Shuiquan village was set up; in the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947), it was changed into the fourth district; in March 1960, Shuiquan township was changed into commune; in 1983, it was changed into Shuiquan township; in December 1999, it was changed into gushuiquan town. As of June 2020, Shuiquan town has one neighborhood committee, 13 village committees and one forest farm living area.
In 2017, there were 22 enterprises and 152 employees in Shuiquan town; in 2018, there were 50 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Shuiquan town.
Historical evolution
In the first year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty (1909), there were reclamation households living in Shuiquan area.
In 1936, Shuiquan village was set up, and the village office was set up in Shuiquan village.
In 1947, it was changed into the fourth district.
In October 1956, it was divided into Shuiquan and Dequan.
In 1958, the two townships were merged into Shuiquan township.
In March 1960, Shuiquan township was transformed into a commune.

The origin of place names
Shuiquan town is called Hanhe because there is a mountain spring in front of Shuiquan village. The river water is clear, transparent, sweet and refreshing. It flows all the year round and is famous far and near, so it gets its name.
