Dongbei Street
Dongbei street, a street under the jurisdiction of Suzhou District, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast corner of the drum tower in the urban area of Suzhou. It starts from jiuhang road in the East, connects Dongda street in the south, connects Beida street in the West and Jiujin road in the north, with a total area of 5.7 square kilometers.
In 1993, Dongbei street was changed into a street. At the end of 2011, the total population of Dongbei street was 22942, including Yugu, Uygur, Mongolian, Manchu, Hui and Tibetan ethnic minorities. As of June 2020, Dongbei street has three communities under its jurisdiction, and its sub district office is located at No. 8 Gonghe street.
History of construction
Before 1949, Jiuquan (Suzhou) had Zhongshan and Jiaotong towns. In September of the same year, after the liberation of Jiuquan, the town was abandoned and 20 administrative groups were set up in Northeast, Beiguan, Dongguan, Southeast, Xiguan and northwest.
In 1955, 6 streets were removed and the 20 administrative section was changed to 20 streets.
In 1956, Dongbei street was under the jurisdiction of Chengguan town.
In 1958, the town was removed and the Northeast street was under the jurisdiction of Chengguan District.
In 1962, the district was removed and the town was built. Dongbei street was under the jurisdiction of Chengguan town.
In 1993, it was changed into a street.
At the end of 2002, Chengguan town was abolished and Beiguan and Dongbei streets were merged into Dongbei streets. Dongbei sub district office and Minzhu Street residents committee (central residents committee) work together.

Located in the east of Suzhou District, Jiuquan City, the scenic area covers an area of 270000 square meters, including 50000 square meters of natural lakes. It is the only well preserved garden of Han Dynasty in Hexi corridor.
