Qiaotou town is subordinate to Dongguan City, located in the east of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south central part of Guangdong Province, the eastern edge of the Pearl River Network, the Pearl River Delta region. In the middle and lower reaches of Dongjiang River, it is adjacent to BOLUO County, Huiyang County in the East, Xiegang town and Zhangmutou town in the south, Changping Town in the West and Qishi town in the northwest; it is 45 km from Guancheng in the northwest, 68 km from Shenzhen in the southeast and 80 km from Huizhou in the East. History of construction
In the early Song Dynasty, people lived in Qiaotou in the east bank; in the late Southern Song Dynasty, some people moved here from Zhuji Lane in Nanxiong, and then a small number of people moved here in the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Built before Ming Dynasty
According to the records in Dongguan county annals edited by Chen Botao: "before Ming Dynasty, the city system consisted of Rifang in the city, Rixiang in the city, three lanes in the city and one lane in the city. In the opposition, the township ruled the capital, four in the township and thirteen in the capital (Volume 3, with diliao and Dufang) At that time, Dongguan county was divided into wenshun Township, Guicheng Township, Ende Township and Yanfu township. Most of the villages in Qiaotou belonged to urban and rural areas.
Built during the Qing Dynasty
According to Chen Botao's Dongguan county annals, the urban and rural areas of Dongguan County in the Qing Dynasty were "divided into five categories", namely, the arrest department, the ring department, the Jingshan department, the Zhongtang department and the gap department. At that time, the villages in Qiaotou were under the jurisdiction of Jingshansi, whose organization was located in Chashan.
Built during the period of the Republic of China
After the founding of the Republic of China, Dongguan County abolished the Qing Dynasty's "five subordinations" and implemented the county jurisdiction system. According to the relevant archives,

Dongguan county was still divided into six districts, Qiaotou was still the third district, with a population of 16123 at that time. The establishment of the people's Republic of China after its founding
On October 17, 1949, Dongguan was liberated. At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, Dongguan county was divided into eight districts, Qiaotou was the seventh district.
In the spring of 1953, Dongguan County divided the original eight districts into 15 districts and Qiaotou District into the ninth district.
On July 10, 1954, the district township system changed again. Ten township level towns were established in Dongguan County, and Chashan, Liaobu, Dalang, Changping, Qingxi, Qiaotou, Houjie, Daojiao, wanglian and Dongzhong townships were changed into township level towns.
In September 1955, the ninth district was renamed Qiaotou district.
In December 1957, Dongguan county set up 37 big townships, and Qiaotou township was in charge of Qiaotou and Xiegang.
In September 1958, Dongguan abolished the big township system and established the people's commune system. Changping people's commune was established by merging the four townships of Changping, Hengli, Qiaotou and Dongkeng.
In March 1959, Qiaotou separated from Changping commune and established Qiaotou people's commune.
In October 1983, the people's commune system of Dongguan county was abolished, Qiaotou commune was changed into Qiaotou District, and each brigade was changed into township.
In 1985, Dongguan was upgraded from a county-level city to a prefecture level city. In November, Qiaotou district was renamed Qiaotou town. The 14 townships under the jurisdiction of the former district government were slightly adjusted to 16 administrative districts and one neighborhood committee: Dongjiang, Shanhe, Gangtou, Wuxia, shaogangtou, Langxia, Liwu, dengwu, Qiaotou, Lingtou, Jinglian, Tianxin, shishuikou, Dazhou, hekeng, tiantoujiao and Liancheng.

Geology and geomorphology
The main strata in Qiaotou are lower Paleozoic quartz schist and lower Jurassic sand shale. Qiaotou town is located in the flood area in the south of the Yangtze River in the East, the north of Shima in the East, the endless tonghupu in the East, and the rolling hills in the middle and West. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest; the trend of the river is from south to north, which is consistent with the trend of the mountains. The pugualing, songshanling and huweiling mountains in Qiaotou town come from Yinpingzui mountain, and the hongbuling mountains come from Baoshan. East west direction, height 74 meters.

Dongjiang
One of the main tributaries of the Pearl River, the fourth largest river in Lingnan, is the main channel for farmland irrigation and waterway transportation at Qiaotou. The upstream flows from Longchuan and other places in the northeast to the west through Huizhou, around Yongping village in Huiyang, through Dongjiang village and shaogangtou village at Qiaotou, then to Qishi, Shipai and Shilong, and then into Shiziyang. With an area of 0.64 square kilometers, Dongjiang River is the source of Dongshen water supply project.
Xie gangshui
It originates from the southwest of Tonghu in Huiyang County, passes through DAAO village, passes through Xiegang village, and converges with Chishan River in the northwest via Xiacun village. The river joins the Shima River through niutouwo, Xiapu and zhouliao at Qiaotou in the west, and flows into Dongjiang River from Tonghu Sluice at Dongjiang village through Dazhou farm, Puzi lake and Longqu river at Qiaotou in the East.
Chishan
It originates from goucha mountain, flows through Chishan village in the northeast, flows into Xiegang water through Xiacun village in the north, and flows to the northwest. In the west, it flows into the Shima River through the gangwa lake of Qiaotou Jinglian village, and in the north, it flows into the Shima River through Jinglian Changzhen and Chijiao.
Shima River
Dongjiang tributary, called Jiujiang water in Qing Dynasty, originated in naoke mountain, Bao'an District, Shenzhen city. From south to north, it flows into shishuikou, Jinglian, Qiaotou, shanbian, Liwu, Langxia and Jiantang at Qiaotou, and then into Dongjiang River. The river basin covers an area of 1249 square kilometers, the main stream is 88 kilometers long, and the section flowing through the town is 9 kilometers long. The elevation of the river valleys on both banks is about 8-15 meters, and there are e-tan, bengjiang Tan, Huangni Tan, headwind Tan, etc. In the first section of Qiling River, the flood discharge with a return period of 20 years is 2056 m3 / s, the corresponding water level is 13.10 m, and the discharge in dry season is 5 m3 / s.
