Longquan Town
Longquan town is the political, economic and cultural center of Xintian County, formerly known as Chengguan town. On August 28, 1995, the township was withdrawn and merged into the town, and the former Chengguan Town, Chengdong Township and Tianxiang Township were merged into Longquan town. In April 2000, according to the management needs, it was divided into one town and two offices, namely Longquan Town, Chengdong office and Tianjia office. In July 2007, Tianjia office and Chengdong office were abolished and merged into Longquan town. At present, Longquan town has a total area of 203.49 square kilometers and a total population of 155851 (in 2017). It is divided into seven community neighborhood committees and 78 administrative villages, namely Chaoyang, Zhongshan, Xinhua, Shuangbi, Xiufeng and Shuangsheng.
Historical evolution
In 1949, it belonged to Bai hometown, Xiache Township and Beimen Waixiang. In 1953, Chengguan town was established. He was incorporated into the happy commune in 1958. In 1961, Chengguan commune, Chengdong commune and Hongwei commune were established. In March 1981, Hongwei commune was renamed Tianjia commune. In December 1980, the people's commune of Chengguan was abolished and the people's Government of Chengguan town was restored. In April 1984, the rural people's commune of the whole county was abolished, the township system was restored, and the Township People's government was established. The whole county governs one town and 20 townships, namely Chengguan Town, Jicun Township, xiacaodong Township, Chengdong Township, Lianhua Township, Jinling Township, Mao Township, Tian Township, Lengshuijing Township, menlouxia Yao Township, Jiantou Township, Maoli Township, Shizi Township, Shiyang Township, jinpenwei Township, Sanjing Township, TAOLING township Gaoshan Township, Xinlong Township, zhishiping Township, dapingtang township. in 1995, Chengguan Town, Chengdong Township and Tianxiang Township merged to set up Longquan town. In July 2007, Tianjia office and Chengdong office were abolished and merged into Longquan town. on November 20, 2015, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (xiangminxingfa No. 54) approved to abolish the organizational system of Lianhua, Lengshuijing, maojia and Maoli townships, and adjust some administrative divisions of Longquan, Jicun and dapingtang.
