Ancient town
Gucheng town is subordinate to Huanren Manchu Autonomous County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province. It is located in the north of Huanren Manchu Autonomous County, adjacent to gangshanling at the junction of Tonghua County in Jilin Province in the south, Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County in Fushun City in the northwest, and Tonghua County in Jilin Province in the Northeast. It covers an area of 312 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 24728 registered residence households in ancient towns.
In 1958, guaimozi satellite commune was established. In 1984, owner ditch commune was changed into owner ditch township. In 2002, guaimozi Korean town was renamed guaimozi town. In 2006, gugou Township and guaimozi town were merged into an ancient town. As of June 2020, Gucheng has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Gucheng is stationed in guaimozi village.
In 2018, there were 16 industrial enterprises and 25 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Gucheng.
Historical evolution

By the end of 2011, Gucheng town had 12 villagers' committees, namely chaluzi, guaimozi, Guchengzi, shuanglingzi, wanidianzi, Jiangnan, Xinjiang, houshougou, Erdaogou, Badaogou, Tongjiang and jianchanggou.
As of June 2020, Gucheng has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Gucheng is stationed in guaimozi village.

The Fuer River, the main river in the ancient town, flows from west to East through 8 villages in the town, with a flow length of 38 km.

At the end of 2011, the total population of Gucheng district was 25475, including 2264 permanent residents, with an urbanization rate of 8.9%. There are 1451 floating population. In the total population, there are 13065 males, accounting for 51.29%; 12410 females, accounting for 48.71%; 2342 persons under 14 years old, accounting for 9.19%; 20730 persons between 15 and 64 years old, accounting for 81.37%; 2403 persons over 65 years old, accounting for 9.43%. In the total population, there are 15790 Manchu people, accounting for 61.98%; 8455 Han people, accounting for 33.19%; there are Korean, Mongolian, Hui and other ethnic minorities. The birth rate is 6.5 ‰, the death rate is 4.85 ‰, and the natural growth rate is 1.65 ‰.
