In May 1986, it was changed to huangtukan Manchu Township. In June 1989, it was restored to huangtukan township. As of June 2020, huangtukan township has 8 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.

In October 1946, huangtukan township was built.
In January 1947, Weibei county was designated as yaozhan district; in July of the same year, Weichang County was designated as siheyong district.

In August 1961, huangtukan commune was established.
